“Principles” is a bit strong in describing car-buying and imo goes out the window re GT3’s, F-cars, Rolexes, etc. MSRP is an arbitrary designation- you pay what you think its worth based on your financial situation, availability, alternatives, etc.

One can argue that buying any luxury item is stupid and unnecessary. Who needs S-Class or Panamera when a LS460 or Genesis is just as good objectively but costs $50K less? Is a GT3 twice the car as a Z06? One could argue the person paying 5K over sticker on a Genesis is a smarter consumer than if he paid 5K under sticker on an S class. To draw a line in the sand and say the GT3 is worth every bit of, but not a dollar more than MSRP seems rather arbitrary…

My father frequently argues this. He drives a Subaru. Doesn't care. Drives the speed limit basically at all times. It's infuriating. So I have this to look fwd to. However in about 10-12 years, I may retire to the Mexican peninsula and have a f* motorcycle.

u know I watch news
ppl diss this or that politician thinking usa becoming commie socialist.
well if you want free enterprise, this is not surprised. you can have my GT3 any day. I will take $150k over msrp.
ti's very simple.
if you buy one GT3, just pay the ADM. time is money. they time you argue on ADM, go work 5 jobs and make that money
if you buy 3 cars a year. the dealer will send you GT3 at MSRP.
we all pay our dues.
no one is actually getting those things at MSRP, you are paying in other ways..

Oh and don't forget that when they let you buy it, its being lent to you. If you don't sell it back to them or trade to another dealer that is demerit unless you can overcome that with more purchases. They will give you no ADM allocations if you enabling them keep making money on the car when you want to get out of it. Most people have good intentions on this but fall out of line. Only the faithful keep getting no ADM allocations. Its fair system given the scarcity of these cars on a relative basis.

If you are referring to crying about it and not wanting to pay ADM, I would say that's a bit extreme. Perhaps I misunderstand your comment.
I would wager to say most of us who find the ADM issue outrageous have no problem paying X% over but the concept is foolish.
I still haven't heard any responses from those in the camp of finding it "acceptable" about whether or not they dislike it genuinely. If seems like all who get bothered by people talking about ADM would be in the dealer's pockets or "on their side" which I just can't get to understand. The typical responses of accepting it seem to indicate it is more than tolerable and normal.

I agree about paying in other ways. I have a Touring allocation at MSRP for next spring but I’ve bought a cayenne turbo, pani 4S, and a macan S in the last 2 years and I’m taking delivery of a TT this month. So I guess I’ve paid my dues towards get a Touring at MSRP.

The majority responses I've seen from the camp of those WILLING to pay ADM, not WANTING to, are not that it's "normal" but that the market is the market (believe it or not Rennlist doesn't move the global GT3 market) and that they are willing to pay the extra 5-15% of the suggested price of the car to get the car they want, when they want it, and how they want it. I have yet to see a single "pro ADM" post on these forums, no one is happy paying over MSRP. I've seen more "anti ADM" posts than I can count and mostly from guys who speak condescendingly toward those who are willing to pay it for the reasons mentioned in the last sentence. It's perfectly understandable to be anti-ADM, I just don't understand the constant ****ting all over those that pay it to get an allocation. Too many people in here with the mentality that the Rennlist members in here paying an ADM are moving the needle for the overall GT market, it's absurd.

If you're against paying an ADM, then don't. Go cross shop for cars you feel are a better value. You're spinning your wheels in here standing on your soap box lecturing and talking down to those that choose to spend their money differently than you. To be clear, Azzurri, I'm not speaking to you, I'm speaking in generalities towards those in here doing what I described above, on a daily basis. It's crazy to me how much some people here care about how others spend their money.

My money - I can do whatever I want with it.
