Just because someone is willing to pay more, does that not mean they value the car more. Value represents more than what you are willing to pay. I see lots of people who pay through the nose, but hardly use their cars. To me a car not driven has no value. My 981 for example, has over 20k track km on it and just as,many street km. I put over 10k track km on my 991.2 GT3RS for a total of 18k km before I sold it. Had it for less than two years. My Touring will be a year round daily driver. What defines value has little to do with what you pay but everything to do with what you want from the car and how you use it. For me to be even remotely interested in paying over sticker, it has to be something very special.
The free market in the US seems to be defined by peoples fear of not being first.

Here's the reality of things. The 992 will be the highest number produced GT3. Porsche is churning out every car they can. This is also why later on, we will see a depreciation, and sooner rather than later, MSRP allocations will be much more common. What do you think happens once the GT3RS starts to flood the market? Many who bought regular GT3's will be trading them in, and people will be much less interested in the regular GT3 as the RS is now the new hot thing and more used inventory becomes available. Then the cycle starts again and some will fall over themselves to pay ADM in order to be first.

There's just soooo many 911s at dealerships all over the US.....soooo many 718s out there too. Porsche is just pumping out so many sports cars. Who said there's global supply chain issues? Not for Porsche...you can tell by the packed dealership lots.
They're going to make everyone a GT3. I read that somewhere on Rennlist.

Seriously, it seems like half the threads on Rennlist are just rich guys whining about how other rich guys like to spend their money.

^Great post...made me LOL
I will change the trajectory. I followed my son Sunday while he drove my 991RS and I drove my new 992S cab with stick. Drove the canyons in Malibu. We are all lucky to have these amazing machines.

That is the part i seriously do not understand. Why folks are gong-ho about random peoples opinion determining if they made the right decision is beyond ridiculous. And those that tell people who can afford to pay the ADM that they have more money than sense or whatever do not see the irony

won't be getting any of their fun cars?

2019 GTS with 10,000 miles going for $5k over sticker
2020 C2S going for MSRP with 6000 miles on it
Many dealers have become used car salesmen exclusively...

Well, my Taycan Turbo S is scheduled for delivery next month and my manual PTS Touring is inbound too. I still own my 981 GT4 and had a 991.2 GT3RS.
Just to put into perspective how my local market looks. My Ferrari dealer has 110 registered VIP clients. That is the highest number in all of Europe.

I respect your right to hold out on principal. 991s are selling for more than original MSRP in some cases, used GT3s well above sticker - the market has changed, due to the farcical focus on "green" BEVs among other things. It may go back, i choose not to chance it and wait. Life is short!

Exactly. People will be paying over MSRP on 992 GT3s for the next couple years. And if you're a well principled man who refuses to pay over, "you aint gettin no coke." I lack principles and enjoy drinking Coke.
