Burning Brakes
Finally got my GT3 back from the ppf shop- Adonis ppf in Vista California. Tim the owner did a fantastic job - much better install than other shops did on my other five Porsche toys.
I designed the livery for the car months ago - finally got it installed also.
I was surprised how little torque the GT3 has coming from a stop light. You have to be very gentle with the throttle. Also in PDK automatic the darn trans shifts all the way to 6th gear by 35 miles an hour in normal mode. I find I really need to drive the car in manual most of the time. In PDK automatic setting the engine will shift up to sixth very rapidly and at 70 mph is at 3000 plus rpm- perhaps the reason for the $1,800 gas guzzler tax. Also the trans does not downshift fast enough when coming to a stop at a light and I can hear some engine grumbling in second when the car is almost stopped and downshifting on its own. This car does not like driving at low speeds.
I find the car drives easier in Track rather than normal mode.
car sounds great and corners on rails but low speed takes some effort.

Quick question...for those of you that have the silver wheels with steel brakes, how is the brake dust? I have silver wheels and steel brakes on my GT4 and the brake dust is a massive pain!

Horrendous lol. Ceramic coating is your friend along with regular applications of wet coat. The way mine are now I can pressure wash 95% of the brake dust off without ever touching the wheels. ST rotors going on Monday so only a few more days of dealing with it.

I had my wheels ceramic coated right after I got the car but it doesn't really seem to do anything. What are ST rotors?

Surface Transforms carbon ceramic. They are replacement spec for the stock irons. Strange that you don’t notice a difference on the wheels after ceramic coating. I did my wheels face and barrels with GTechniq and it doesn’t take hardly any effort if any to remove the dust.
