It is a very popular Toyota color and as far as I know, it's only available on their Pro product lines for Tacoma, Tundra, 4Runner. Don't know if it's available on the Sequoia. I wouldn't describe it as "dark" per say but rather a very saturated bright blue that is on the darker/medium side of the spectrum. Not dark like Gentian Blue or Dark Sea Blue.
It’s definitely not a dark blue, as you mentioned. It falls very nicely in between Mexico Blue and Voodoo Blue. Especially if you don’t have a PTS build or if you don’t want to spend the extra $8K. Of course colors are personal and is certainly the most debated topic here on Rennlist.

Visited my local dealer as they got a Shark Blue Spyder in. Wanted to get some pictures next to my Riviera Blue for comparison and thought I would share in case anybody is interested.
I’d say the colors are pretty representative of the actual color IRL but keep in mind your eyes, display, processor, lighting conditions may show the color differently than what I saw. I’d say if the Shark Blue in these pictures are what you’re hoping for then you’ll be happy with it when your car arrives.

Porsche of Ontario (Southern California) had the Shark Blue GT3 on the showroom floor so while I was in town celebrating (aka tracking) the purchase of my Miami Blue GT3 RS, I decided to stop by. I ended up also buying the Miami Blue 718 Boxster GTS that was next to it (oops). I was shocked at how good the blue looks in person - the press photos (and mine) don't do it justice at all. It's making me seriously reconsider the Gentian Blue on my 992 GT3 order. I think I'll add the Shark Blue accents now before my lock date!

Shark blue is great in person, both in the sun and shade. GT3RS is Miami, and I’d say Shark is closest to Vodoo if I had to make a comparison.
