The interesting thing will be whether or not the Z06 will drive the ADM down on both the GT3 and GT4RS. GM will have a field day if they can put every bloke Porsche USA turns away into a Z06. Doubt Porsche will let that happen. The Z06 is a direct competitor to the GT3 and GT4RS in many ways. Much depends on where GM finally sets the Z06 US pricing. I may be wrong, but I have a feeling that it won't be quite as low as we have been expecting. The frenzy of the US sports car market, is definitely not something they are not aware of.

Exactly, so the parasitic losses should be proportional between 4.0 6-cyl and 5.5L V8 (it has proportionately more weight, valves, bearings and other parasitic parts, not disproportionately more…)

I predict a fully-loaded one would hover around $120K. I'm in line for one so hope to find out on Tuesday what it will actually cost.

I'm #2 at a dealer in center of the US in Ozarks... the only one which gave me a signed contract for msrp delivery over a year ago. I had to call like 30-40 of them until I found one who do this. It will be a beautiful road trip driving that beast back to Cali, maybe finding some track days along the way back to see what she does. I'm looking forward to this car more than my GT3 touring, in fact I'm completely lukewarm to that by comparison. The z06 is going to stir some serious emotions with that engine, and I'm going full-on z07 track package with stupid spoilers and everything on it, maybe even register it in texas where I have a small business just for that full-effect from the American movies I saw as a kid in Italy. First American car ever for me and a flat-crank Italian sounding naturally aspirated 600hp+ v8? Yee-haw-siiii!!!!

There will be a carbon fiber track pack of some sort that will be an option if you have the Z07 package that will give you $16,000 CF wheels and probably CF wing and splitter. I think the Z07 package will be another $20,000 or so and base car at $89,950. If you add all the appearance stuff, you’ll be at $130,000 or so. I expect 3,600 lbs and 620-670 hp. Very short 1st and 2nd gear and probably 0-60 in 2.6-2.8. 1/4 mile in 10.5@130.

Yes, and it will be the best deal in automotive history. Even fully loaded, this car won't touch a Gt4 price, and yet will spank everything at the track with a soundtrack better than any current exotic. It's ugly as sin burnt in the sun.. but who cares!

The only car cooler than z06 which is coming out but out of my price range is the SCG 004s.. gotta work harder!

Any guesses or information on when orders can be placed?

You’ll be able to order one next year, production will most likely start in March - thats if Magnesium shortage is managed. Reportedly car uses extensive magnesium such as transmission and engine blocks and even chassis components.

I’m 3rd on the list for a Z06 at MSRP at a large local dealer who I know will get the allocations. Looking forward to seeing the release on Tuesday. I have a feeling this could be the most epic Corvette engine of all time. After this it will sadly be all EV or small displacement ice/hybrid

I think the Z06 will be somewhere between the new GT3 and GT3RS. It will come with these CF wheels that do make a difference in a track which GT3’s dont have anything comparable to but most likely new RS will have the WP magnesium wheels.

No, it will not.

Porsche circle jerks are very discerning as to what flavor of Kool-Aid they will drink. Only the finest from Zuffenhausen, Stuttgart, will do.

Does it even matter? Very very few people would be cross shopping a Porsche with a Chevrolet, so their price points are irrelevant. If you want to track it, the Chevy won’t hold up. If you want to cruise, Chevy doesn’t have badge appeal. If you want to back road drive, Chevy doesn’t offer a stick. The Chevy does seem to have a fabulous engine, but the GT3 engine isn’t exactly a weakness. Well done to Chevrolet for building an NA car, but it has zero desirability next to a GT3T 6MT for me.

I see plenty of Vettes at the track, and most seem to run fine. No one knows how reliable these cars are yet, so it's unfair to speculate about negatives already.
