Finalizing my details by Monday (flights and hotel) for the ED of my GT3 for third week September. Apparently the car has been produced last week. Surprised about the early production of the car when it was slated for September production. ED is still a thing I guess.

that is the least important reason to consider Euro Delivery. Anyone can do that tour anytime, nothing special about it honestly other than saying you were there.

I agree with that. It is mildly interesting but really is just the assembly area...you do not see panels being formed for instance. I have done it twice and next time I will probably skip.

Don’t believe the website. This notice, if accurate, is for general public access.

My ED schedule was provided to me and include 1.5 hours for the tour.

Not that the TYD lock date means anything since mine has shifted many times, including twice within about 24 hours of lock date. My car was originally scheduled to be complete by now (before the CA manual issue came up).
Thanks and I agree. My lock date came twice and was reset twice. It's now Sep 1st. It's been there for over a month now without moving. Technically, ED orders lock as soon as it is ordered though regardless what the TYD app says (I check it daily. )

When did your build start and what was the complete date?

Mine started on 7/16 but it shows 9/3 as the estimated complete date.

thats good news, its like magic to me, to see where my car was born, I think its the best factory tour Ive seen so far, look for the race car bodies in the racks above the factory floor, If ED is still at Werks 1, youre in history, where it all began, lucky few to make the pilgrimage, I heard Dr. Porsche has an office there thats untouched and no you cant see it, look in the parking lot in front there, sometimes you can see the executives cars there, Keep your eyes open never know what or who you might see around town, Once walking to the mall in Stuttgart I saw Dieter Zetsche get put of a Designo S65 Coupe

It was quoted during a CXX consultation with PCNA Atlanta. However, I was told that it is not a CXX option and as such, any dealer SA should be able to make a call and get it added to a build. In your case if the car is already locked (complete even) I suspect you may have difficulty getting it added now. My understanding is that it is added to the car invoice as another line item on the Mulroney sticker.

For what it is worth, I have a top notch Paint Correction/PPF/Ceramic installer that tells me the factory PPF is not nearly as good a film as Xpel or SunTech. Of course .... he may just be saying that about the "competition"!!!

My ED was pick up Stuttgart. next day Ingolstadt, then drove to Leipzig factory tour, (only can drive track you pick up there) the I drove to Autostadt in Wolfsburg, then to the Ring for 3 laps and back to stuttgart, it was a whirlwind tour, let me suggest if your wavering can you do a PEC tour here at home? My rule for Germany check make sure there aren't any weird holidays ruining your time, the German word for closed is geschlossen, make me suicidal to fly across planet and stuffs closed on holidays, my rule for Germany is get there Tuesday and leave Sunday, museums are closed Monday, I believe Porsche still runs factory tours on Mondays

thanks for such a detailed reply! And great advice.

since it seems so much is up in the air, and uncertainty continuing we decided to just take PECLA delivery.

But I am going to hopefully get an allocation for another car soon that we can do euro delivery on next year. Hopefully we can time it for better weather.

ED is about the driving.. most fun miles you're likely to put on your car. Extend it as much as you can and just drive drive explore everywhere. Forget the museum it's just more marketing .. just go enjoy the car on the best roads yoh can find.

Default How many miles?

How many miles are people planning on during their ED?

With ~120/day on the track, my trip is looking like being just at the limit of 3700 miles.

I know Trakcar once went well over 6,000 km without consequence. How many miles do you expect? I think the time limit is policed a bit more closely than mileage.

This is how I returned my GT4 in 2015:

The ED agreement mentions the 6k km and 3 month issue, but then says just return the car so they can export it within 6 months.

From Google, with direct routing, it is looking like 6000 km and change.
