Perhaps this will be different as well due to potential production delays/number of units able to be produced from the pandemic, maybe 22 (part run), 23 (full) ,24 (possibly truncated)....

They don't update/change the GT3 part way through its run. Traditionally, each 7-year generation (like 992 here) has a GT3 in its 3rd and 4th years and a facelift .2 GT3 in its 6th and 7th years (and none in 5th year).

I had the same thought but what I think he meant was that the 992 generation would get the facelift, not the GT3.

Isn't it usually part of launch year, full year then 2-3 months of following year? 991.2 GT3 went that way.

Yes, there were 2018 MY deliveries in the final 2 quarters of 2017. It was originally anticipated that 2018 MY would encompass all 991.2 GT3 (non RS) with no 2019 MY car’s planned for NA, although this was ultimately not to be the case with 2019 MY GT3s produced.
