Default GT3 Production Years

Anyone know how long this version of the GT3 will be produced? One model year? Two model years?

They’re always made for 2, I think

I think that was unusual, as the schedule was deeply affected by the engine recall...

Perhaps this will be different as well due to potential production delays/number of units able to be produced from the pandemic, maybe 22 (part run), 23 (full) ,24 (possibly truncated)....

I guess that’s possible too...

As the engine is used in different car models I would suggest at least 3 years with an update expected end of 2023 for 2024.

They don't update/change the GT3 part way through its run. Traditionally, each 7-year generation (like 992 here) has a GT3 in its 3rd and 4th years and a facelift .2 GT3 in its 6th and 7th years (and none in 5th year).

I had the same thought but what I think he meant was that the 992 generation would get the facelift, not the GT3.

This is what I would expect.

Isn't it usually part of launch year, full year then 2-3 months of following year? 991.2 GT3 went that way.

Not in N. America. Model year is the year following launch year (i.e. 2022 in this case). In Europe, launch year and first model year are the same.

I'm thinking CY...weren't there 2018 deliveries late 2017, 2018 then there were a few cars early CY 2019. 2018 and 2019 MY.

Yes, there were 2018 MY deliveries in the final 2 quarters of 2017. It was originally anticipated that 2018 MY would encompass all 991.2 GT3 (non RS) with no 2019 MY car’s planned for NA, although this was ultimately not to be the case with 2019 MY GT3s produced.
