I often read posts about how the 991.2 GT3 allocations could be had at MSRP toward the end of its run. Perhaps in limited quantities, but not universally. My allocation locked in September 2018 and the car exited the factory in January 2019. At the time, Porsche DTLA was asking a $25,000 ADM, but I know that was not firm as I had mine reduced to $10,000 (after one prior 911 lease and another 911 purchase) and a friend of mine purchased two 991.2 GT3s (one winged and one Touring) from DTLA for no ADM (but he had a very long purchase history with the dealership).
I don't doubt Porsche Newport Beach has a long list of buyers willing to pay a $25,000 ADM. The allocation list at Porsche DTLA was 30+ for the 991.2 (at $25,000 ADM). They sold every single allocation (for what ADM, if any, I do not know). The point being, if I had passed on my allocation for a $10,000 ADM, it would have gone to the next on the list. Some 3 years later, that $10,000 looks pretty reasonable (to me, anyway) for a buildable PTS Touring allocation, given that people are now paying up to $50,000 over MSRP for non-PTS 2018 and 2019 pre-owned Tourings. And given that the 992.1 stripper Touring will be at least $17,000 more than a comparably spec'd 991.2 Touring.

Altho the new GT3 is significantly faster round the ‘Ring than the 991.2, i’m waiting for real world, daily-driving Rennlist reviews / comparos before committing to an ADM. I suspect any improvements in steering / braking / handling are at most incremental and may not be perceivable in day to day driving, or even at 8/10ths around a track (on the same rubber)-

Let me guess, they also told you that the car was going to be limited production and would appreciate? haha God, same BS from stealers with each new GT release.

No. I doubt they said any of that. Most dealers are very matter of fact. Here's the slot, here's the price, you want it? No? Have a nice day. Next

I got the allocation, paid the deposit, but I'm having second thoughts especially regarding the ADM at 25k.
BTW, Dealer said they will keep deposit should I opt out. Is that typical in your experiences?

I'd check into the legality of them keeping your deposit, especially if you haven't ordered the car yet.

But you also don't want to burn bridges either. Work with them on reducing the ADM. Show them a couple of Rennlist polls..... LOL.

To me that says they don’t have a line of other customers at that level of ADM.

Until the actual allocation comes in and they start calling the folks on the list and create a bidding war. Those promised at $25k will quickly find out the price is higher if the market demands it. They will sell every one for more than that $25k. It is the game they played for the 991.2 allocation, fact. The GM there is lying scum.

Yes, I signed an agreement to forfeit the deposit if I walked away. I was just wonder if that was typical as it regards the members here. That said, I didn't have time to check when I got the call for the allocation and I figured losing 3k is better than over spending by 22k or would be if I walked away.
I imagine they would apply to another car if I asked.
