That picture is not really a fair comparison. It sure looks to me like the 992 has a lot of cladding still on the rear end. Look how deep set the reflector and backup sensor are in the bumper. That's padding on top of the actual surface. That also adds a lot of lines and business to the design that won't be there when they take that off.
I'm withholding judgement until we see the final product.
I was thinking also about the door handles. The previous gen you could walk up to the car and grab the handle from top or bottom, now you can only grab underneath to open the 992’s door/
Guys~ I just saw some new pictures of the upcoming gt3 this morning, gotta say that the car looks much better without that piece of satin film attached to its hood.
You guys may remember the first leak of the new GT3 from Porsche's commercial, well here I did some work in photoshop and made the car in one of those new shots have the same blue color.

I'm having a really hard time with the front end. That lower grille WTF is going on?
It doesn't look great to me...BUT...I bet the air really accelerates around the sides as it enters the front end. Which means better brake cooling and lower pressure under the car. More downforce.
520 hp? wider front track- PDK improvements...maybe tire improvement. Car will be a beast.
