I would just hate to offend some of thin skinned people on the forum, but personally I happen to feel the rear of the 991.2 GT3 looks better than the 992 GT3. The 991.2 wing looks like an organic part of the car, not aftermarket. I prefer not to have the cylon red eye line across the entire rear of the car, and I prefer more rounded hips which present a more classic 911 look, vs the almost square rear of the 992.
The 992 GT3 will be faster, though I'm happy with my 991.2.

Like others. I’ll go ahead and reserve judgement.

Nothing wrong with Form Follows Function. The new wing is built that way for performance reasons, not fashion.

You both make good points. The 992 carrera rear is not that boxy and the 991 carrera and GT3 had mostly similar rear proportions until the wing, so hopefully the final 992 GT3 rear won’t be as boxy as the above photo.
The RS has always had a more extreme race car look compared to a GT3, which looks more like an extra sporty car. IMHO, the swan neck wing crosses over into RS territory visually speaking. However, form does follow function in the porsche world and it would have been difficult on conjure up more significant downforce without enlarging the GT3 wing, which they don't want to do because it has always been such a significant feature of the RS, to have a much bigger wing than the GT3.
I still prefer the look of the 991 wing, but I understand why Porsche decided to do what they did on the 992.

I’ve always liked the rear of the 992. The hips of the GT3 I think will look amazing once all that camo is removed. I’m still not sold on the swan neck, part of me thinks they are trolling us with it. Regardless they know what they are doing and the more I look at the picture above the more I’m loving it. Now the front I wasn’t a fan of on 992 but again I’ll wait to see the finished product before final judgment.
it looks so aggressive I can see a sub 7 min lap time reported. It will be hard to not want to upgrade to one of these.

I really like it, but I’m also looking past the camo cladding that’s obviously padding the rear.
I’m especially excited about the RS if the GT3 is going to look this extreme.
Also, the wheels are fantastic.

Then there is the interior with the electronic cluster and wide centre console.
that is why I have a .2 Touring as I’m not sure about the look of the 992 yet.

The GT3 rear deck lid has always had a lot going on, particularly for a car that is far more street than track. The 992 GT3 has the most rear deck lid activity to date. The business or just busy is a matter of preference.
