Do I dare buy a Black 911?

However his sentiment matches the old phrase "Once you have black, you never go back..."

I have had two black 911's since '14. Currently, driving a '16 911 Black Edition. Black is not as difficult to keep clean as you might think. I have one recommendation that has made my life easier. Buy an indoor cover, you will go much longer between washes (assuming it is garaged).

My 911 is Basalt black. Currently driving a Cayenne loaner in solid black (not sure about the name of the color). I have to say I am very glad that my car is not solid black. I don't like it at all. I really didn't want a black car when I bought mine but compromised on the Basalt and it looks pretty good. Still not my first choice. But the solid black....not feeling it at all. I can see how it would look great if it were super polished up, but like someone said that lasts 5 minutes. After that it looks dull whereas even my Basalt, with 30k more miles and badly in need of paint correction, still has more interest to me. And here I thought the Basalt showed dirt and fingerprints bad...my word this solid black shows EVERYTHING.
So no, never in a million years. Even if someone full out wrapped it in Xpel for me.

I've had 6 black cars over the last 12 years. Two are in the fleet now, including the our Cayenne. Truthfully, I'm about done.
When clean, it could not be a more awesome car color. However, you see every imperfection. Hairline scratches, swirl marks, dust and general dirt. My 911 is GT Silver because as much as black is over the top awesome, I was done with the worry of seeing everything. If you have to have it, just know that it takes more care than a lighter color car.

Like many here I also have two black cars. The key is washing and drying the car correctly.

In my opinion, there are WAY too many black, silver and gray Porsches out there. My 2015 Targa 4S is sapphire blue and it's a stunning color. People routinely compliment the color. There are so many nice colors to choose from. Go bold!

Guys,
Thanks for all your inputs. Knowing myself as well as I do, I think my best move is skip the black, as beautiful as it may be. Thanks again for all the "advice".
