Just run scotozero 3 305 on on the back and 2 on the front if you must have them now (in July) or otherwise by fall 3 should be available in the stock sizes. Wheels are up to you. :-)

Yes. See it now on a different site. In fact it looks like the series II will come in a 305. So I'll likely get those in the fall.

I ran the Sotozero II's last winter on my C4S. They were great. Perfect on ice and in deep snow. Just get the 20" OZ Ultraleggera wheels on tire rack. They are bomber wheels and can take a beating.

Do those come in center locks?

Why 2 and not 3? Isn't 3 the new design? Forgive my ignorance.

You make a good case! Now I need to decide on wheel color. I have a white GTS w/ black wheels. Do I run black in the winter. Bronze? Silver?

Rear wheels are 12in wide and the 295's are typically mounted on 11in (that's the width of the Porsche CL w/ winter tires). I guess the question is "anyone mounted the 295 on 12 inch wide wheels". Are the tires too narrow. I had an issue once where the lip got chewed up when the tire was 10mm narrower on a Mercedes.
I always use OEM wheels for winter set up and buy cool wheels for summer (HRE P101 this time). 2 sets are easiest and will almost pay for its self in time and changeover cost depending on how long you keep your car. Porsche recommends 245 front and 295 rears so thats what i ran last winter. If youre in deep snow all the time narrower would be better but we rarely saw that and roads get cleared quickly making wider better/safer. Didnt see much snow last winter and rwd isnt great. Your C4 will be awesome in snow with 4 winter tires.

Good call. Car came on 305s so I guess 12. 295s are perfect. I didnt drive mine much last winter as its my first Porsche and i have an SQ5 with 4 winters so its great in snow. Porsche saw a few dry days......more this winter.

I am not sure why Porsche recommends 295 winter rears on 20s (19s come with 295 to begin with) but I believe it is to clear chains.

For snow - narrower is always better. The 5 lug wheels are 11.5 inches in the rear so the 295s still fit.

I agree but I can't see 10mm making a difference.

^ I dont think it does. As I mentioned earlier, if you are in deep snow narrower is always better but how often does that happen? For the rest of the time wider is safer/better/more fun. Way up here snow is plowed pretty quickly. I used to go really narrow and that was so boring and borderline dangerous on our bare roads. I went from OEM 255 to 275 on my SQ5 for winters and its a beast. 285 summers now.
