Default 992 digital dash

What do you guys think about this? Do you think it'll change the way you feel about that 991 and will it make you want to wait till the 992?

I have a 991.2 and I absolutely love it. I don't care that it's an analog dash versus a digital dash because I love the way the car drives. It's fun to drive. However, it would be cool to have some new technology in the car that keeps up with the times.

looks really nice, I wouldn't mind a digital dash. Keep modernizing the 911.... sorry the 992

Will be same as new Panamera. Take look at it to get an idea of what it will look like.

And BTW, fortunate enough to see all of Porsche's product schedule for 2018 today. According to the plan I saw, the 992 goes into production Q3 2018. Much earlier than expected.

I HATE that dash, especially on a sports car. Nothing like the analog beauty and functionality of our dashes, even when they're obviously electronic in operation. Can't stand those gamelike needles, and even less only showing a fraction of the needle. To me it'd be a deal-breaker, but also understand the millennial crowd will probably love it, so a sign of the times. But for this semi-old (55) purist, it's a no go.

As long as they keep the engine in the back they can do whatever they want to the dash.

Exactly what many of us expected. MY 2019 starting in Q3 production.

It's ok everyone. Porsche will make a 992 Analog Edition. Only make 992 MSRP 160,000 and will be selling in open market for 250,000. Lol

Agree, with the 992 MT Analog Edition being the rare unicorn... unless BGB converts one

Is it just me, or does the Porsche dash on the photo below the Audi interior look pretty much like the current dash? Truth be told when I drive, I'm looking mostly at the tach for shift points the digital speedo so I don't lose my license. Digital may be inevitable, but they should go easy on the flash and keep it analog style and sporty.

They should install a HUD across their product line and leave the rest of it alone. Eyes = on road, not on some myriad details below. Kind of incredible they launched the new Panamera without one.

The tach is still analog. Everything else surrounding it is LCD.

Audi's had two years to work through the software bugs. I hope they've made good use of that time.

I will miss buttons. Touch interfaces are for riders not drivers.

Not crazy about the Panamera interior. Feels very cold, especially when off. Buttons and analogue parts tell a story through their tactility, you can literally feel the engineering that goes into a cars details. Touchscreens all feel the same, no tactile feedback, no emotion, etc. We touch smartphones all day, I don't get what the big novelty is about touching the exact same surface in a car. I'd prefer a car to give me a different experience and emotion.

For a sports car especially, touch surfaces and LCD's are less appealing. But at least as long as they keep that center gauge analogue (that are gauge that many us drooled over as kids and is a constant subconscious and conscious reminder as to the aspirational heritage and value of said car) then at least that's something.
