I am all about specialty tools but having completed my 991.2 oil change a couple times, a flat head screwdriver works great and causes no damage for the plastic drain plug. I even re-used the plug the first time with no issues (changed it this time around). That tool is nice but IMO it’s overkill. Per the service manual, you can also use a coin to turn the half round back in upon reinstall but I used the flat screwdriver for both removal and install with no issues.
