it will depend on the buyer. Me personally, if its a quality job and it was only a cosmetic repair, I have no problem with it. My CPO had chips all over the bumper, hood and fenders so I had the whole front clip repainted to my satisfaction. I'll fully disclose when I sell, but I also have all documentation of the work that there was no body repair, only refinishing.

Got the car back. They washed it.... I now have swirls.... told them not to wash.... anyone dealt with this? Do I have recourse with the dealer?

Also, the job is pretty good but there is some orange peel in spots and I'm not sure the color match is 100%.

The emotional connection to my car is at risk:/

I am fortunate to have a high end shop here that does Porsche, Maserati, McLaren, and others. Great guys into making the car look great. Did an amazing job matching factory paint. I even used them to install my rear diffuser as I don't have a lift.
Shop for a high end facility and look at their work and talk to customers. In the end it's a plastic bumper and if painted properly it will be fine.

That sucks

Make them redo it until it's perfect.

Find a good high end detailer in your area. Have the dealer chip in a few hundred because they washed it and swirled. The detailer can wet sand the orange peel to match the rest of the car, and then polish the whole car and you will Be better off than when you started!

thats what I would suggest too. I think its pretty impossible for them not to have to wash the car while in the body shop.

I came to the conclusion that a picky eye (and let's face it we all have one) will always notice difference in paint texture, color match, etc. Just have to try and ignore it.

It has ZERO impact on resale of the car if not on the carax. If it looks that bad then have them do another job and try to get it color matched better. The only things that matter on these new cars are the fenders pretty much. Hood is one thats up for debate, but even that nowadays I'm less picky about.

on the 991's the front fenders are modular, so even those aren't a huge deal, the rear ones are a different story.

Been through that with my old black Bimmer. Sucks, but a good detailer will fix it right up. Maybe use it as an excuse to get Opticoat or a good sealant and correction, and you'll be able to sleep better at night.

What color is your car?
