This would be fine but mine seems to be a "fix it citation", what happens if I just ignore this ? Receive the ticket in the mail and pay it ?

I went with them as well. Drive to CHP office, get it signed off, drive home and take it off. May cost as much as just paying the ticket, but you have it for next time and will only have to pay $15 admin charge or whatever so you can drive around all you want not caring if you get a fix it ticket.

I use industrial strength velcro (water resistant, 20lb max load) and apply it directly to the plate (no holder or bracket). I slightly bend the plate so it sits flush on the curved bumper.

Ask me how I know.
That's weird. I thought the OC Sheriff's department handled parking enforcement at SNA? The airport isn't in Newport Beach.

Same thing here. Many warnings, no citations - until last week.

In Texas the ticket for this was changed from a fix-it to a $200 fine since so many were just using the fix-it route. But most cops won't enforce it and you still see a lot of people ignoring it. In my 19 years in Texas I've only received one ticket about 15 years ago and that was in a city with a known love for writing tickets (Lakeway).

At a restaurant recently several motorcycle cops parked next to me and one of them told me about the tow-hook mount available for my car; but still said he personally wouldn't ticket me for it unless he was already ticketing me for something else. I kindly thanked him for letting me know.

As to the statement of "Not sure what you mean, since Porsche has always provided a front plate mount.". I think the answer is obvious: Yeah, if you don't mind ugly twisted holes screwed into your bumper front and center... something that seems incompatible with our pride in our cars.

OP: I forgot to mention. The US Millworks one states it isn't compatible with 991s with parking sensors if your car has them, but there are others than can be found that are.

Why so much hate for front plates?

I like the look better without front plate.

and, in our socialist state (CA) I am proud of my rebellious act against the man of too many laws!

No front plate for me!

They're ugly and completely spoil the lines of the car.

But if everyone has to have one............
Those tow hook mounts are brutal IMO...THEY spoil the lines of the car.
They are mandatory up here so i just get a nice Carbon fibre frame and mount it. I know a couple of guys that just pay the $175 fine every month or so.
Not really sure why we need front plates...............

I ended up using the standard Porsche mount. Yes it screws into the front bumper, but in the end I like the centered look. I tried a tow hook mount but did not like the off center look. I also discovered that having a front plate did not bother me at all. Just a personal preference.

Here is what I did. Attach it with double sided tape along the top side of the plate. Cut the heads off two standard size screws you would see normally attaching a plate to a car. Put double sided tape on the screw heads and stick them on top of the screw holes.

I did this and passed CHP inspection with flying colors. Went home and peeled the plate off.

This or just pay the fine. Stop complaining, the law is the law.

What car would you prefer? The tow hook one especially messes with the Aerokit spoiler... don't you think? Or would you rather have screw holes in the bumper that will limit the resale with many potential buyers?
