yeah, i saw that. but i thought the whole point of the engine shift was to make them more competitive. it still seems that they get blown away on straight aways

I think they're competitive. With about 90 minutes to go, the Corvette, the Aston, and the 911 were running 1, 2, and 3 all within <10 seconds of each other. They were saying all race long, how amazingly fast the 911 was from apex to track out. I can't wait to see them at Road America in early August.

Don't forget all the entries are subject to "balance of performance" which is added weight and air restriction to make the races competitive.

Felt bad for Taylor and the corvette team at the end. That's a great platform and they always run up front. Just bad luck.

For the love of God, stay away from performance automobile internet websites, and social networking till you've finished watching.

As for that 4 banger.....and I think only about 2 liters, .....it is over 500 HP. I'll take one please with a side of chipotle aioli!!
If someone gave me a year to build an uglier car, I'd have a real challenge on my hands. If you haven't done so, check out the movie Le Mans to see how beautiful race cars can be. All the 2017 Prototypes look like they've been beaten with an ugly stick for at least a few months.

but to be honest I am impressed they can keep that hybrid 4 cylinder pumping that type of horsepower on the boil for 24 hours straight! I enjoyed watching it, but then again, I enjoy watching F1 too!

917 is great looking, but I was trying to stick with flat-sixes, something that at least pretends kinship with our cars.

How about the GT1-98? Kinda like a Porsche mullet (911 up front, 962 out back).
