I did this on a beater, but didn't realize that in a dispute over at-fault your insurance company remains uninvolved in any mediation. It is you against the other insurance company, with no help from your insurance company. I fought such a battle earlier this year. For this reason I learned it is worthwhile to have least some amount of collision coverage to avoid this headache.

I'm in Northern Virginia where the premium is similar to Ca..
2014 c2s cab $97 per month with $250 deductible through State Farm.
It is $2 cheaper than 2015 M4 and $18 cheaper than 2015 X6M.

Of course, everything is relative. I pay over $200 per month on 2013 335is. That is because my 21 y/o son is the primary driver of the car. The joy of having children!!

For my C2S cabriolet Allstate is quoting me $996 for 6 months, which seems very expensive to me. Especially since we have only 2 drivers and 4 cars and I told them I would drive this one only around 5k miles/year.
We have good driver discounts, multiple policies, no accidents on our records, etc.
They claim that repair costs are high on this vehicle, but still $2k a year???

Who do you use and how much do you pay?
I pay ~700[semi annually) for 2 cars, full coverage and oddly the 911 is about the same as my 5 series. USAA

~2700 for 3 cars, full coverage, 100/300, 1000 deductible, NO KIDS, no points or speeding tickets:
1. 2011 BMW 5 Series GT.
2. 2011 BMW 328xi.
3. 2015 Porsche 911 GTS.

Safeco Insurance, a Liberty Mutual subsidiary.

Hope this helps.

$700 per year with Erie in Washington DC area. But it's really free; our homeowners is with them and they reduced that by $700 when we got the car. $1K deductible.

That's about what I pay with Allstate for 100/300 and 1k deductible but as mentioned above I live in downtown Austin so get hit with higher premiums than if I lived out in the sticks..
