So far I have been VERY lucky. I have a Passport 9500ix, and yes, it goes around corners and over hills. Last time I came back from Vegas, it set my cruise control at 100.

Ahhh seat warmer, heater and warm clothes, I didn't put enough thought into that one.

Interestingly I do the opposite out here in California - Hot day, roof open, windows open and seat cooler on..

For me, being in the Porsche is a paradigm shift. Relaxation. An escape. Therapy.

I’m not in a hurry to get someplace. I’m enjoying the moment.

I’m only in a hurry to go fast. And I need to keep that in check. I’m not in a hurry to get someplace, hence the reason I don’t really speed when driving about.

Even in my daily life, and daily driving (and I drive a ton for work) I don’t really speed. I plan ahead. I’m NEVER late for a meeting/appointment (I tell myself "I’m not that important" and arriving 10 minutes early is arriving on-time). This greatly reduces my stress level and anxiety.

3,100 miles - 6 weeks.. Taconic State Parkway - Friday morning headed back to NYC. Taconic is notorious for State Troopers and I had Valentine 1 on as always. Entered Highway and rolled it on for a bit too long. Crested a hill, slowing down a bit from Vmax and Valentine went wild and I was full on brakes. Saw the Trooper in the woods on the North side of the Taconic. He began to move before I got there so I knew it was me....pulled over directly on the road he was parked so he only had to move 30 yards or so to pull behind me. After a long conversation about the car - new to me, etc, etc - he was a car guy and loved the 911 and my honesty about why I was pulled over (hmm....officer my sense is I was a bit over the 55 mph Limit and yes, the Valentine works but I guess not quite good enough) - he gave me a huge break, a ticket for illegal license plate frame. Saved me from 6 Points and BIG fine. I have found being friendly and honest has gotten me out of many deserved tickets - when I do receive one, I absolutely know I deserve it.

Close call last fall. I was running my Escort radar detector and was blitzing a mountain road. Was about 400 meters behind some econobox as we drove past a tiny town/power station. A cop rips out of a hiding spot in a parking lot and pulls over the car in front of me which turned out to be a Zipcar. Did a road trip down to NorCal last spring but the Escort did it's job. I probably should run Waze too.

There are a lot of saints who own 911's lol.

Got one in the 718 loaner for my current car. Other than that, I got pulled in my '83 SC back in the day but got let off.

I tend to get tickets in trucks or SUV's it seems!

2 days after I got my '17 CS back from Zuffenhausen drop-off ... 84 in 65 (overtaking a car that had been doing 55-60 in 65 zone for *several miles* - a quick run up then back to 65 mph limit) - too late, saw HWY patrol under tree.

I got a ticket the very first week. A genuine speed trap with a cop hiding behind trees near where I live. I was doing 58 in a 40. The cop said, "You know, I understand why you were speeding. Great looking car. So I will skip the speeding ticket and cite you for not having a front license plate. Enjoy the car. Have a good day."

Oh well.

It better be a long time for me. When I got ticketed for 94 in a 70 zone, my wife made me sell my GT-R. Of course it didn't help that she hated the car ;-)

Sadly, in Virginia, that kind of ticket would land you in jail...

/hate our traffic laws here...

I've wondered about this too. I've only had a Porsche for about 6 months, but I definitely speed in it now (on highway, mostly), whereas I was not a big speeder in my previous cars. The THING is, I'm capable of REALLY speeding (triple digits in no-time), and I'm wondering what kind of legal pain that's likely to inflict on me. It seems very "reckless" in most cars, but the Porsche is hardly stretching its legs at that speed.
