Mini Panic moment about Centrlock wheels
so when I was ordering my 18 4 GTS cab the dealer insisted to take the centerlock as they make significant difference in value down the road if I want to trade my vehicle. Never having had a CL wheel I was doing some reading here and seems like they are not as popular as they said.
My vehicle just locked on Tuesday and I'm wondering if I should be calling and having them request a change at the risk of pushing delivery date back
help?!?

I've had CL on 2 GT3s, 2 RSs, and a Turbo S. I bought a precision instruments torque wrench in 2011 and do my own wheel changes if need be. Some think they are a pain and go for the 5 lug. Each to his own. It definitely makes these cars stand out from the normal 911 variants.

IMO, buy them because you love the way they look. That's their only real value (with all due respect to sechsgang).
Flat tires are enough of an adventure without adding the extremely specific wrinkle of center-locks into the equation.
I had 'em on my 2011 GTS. My 2016 GTS Club Coupe doesn't. Much better...for me.

I love the look. I've always been a spacer guy on my 911s but I thought I can live with out it or get new wheels with different offset. I do dd the car so I swap winters on my existing wheels. So maybe I have to get a wheel and tire set this time around.
Oh and maybe the CL tools to keep in the trunk lol
thank you. I feel a little better. There 3 porsche dealers within 40 min drive or tow so worst case roadside can get me there

You don't have a spare tire in your new 991, so the possibility of a flat tire shouldn't concern you. If the can of Porsche approved tire goo won't save you, then you're calling a flatbed, with or without centerlock wheels.
I have them on my Turbo S, and I think they are awesome. I love the way they look. I did purchase the big torque wrench from Precision Instruments as well as the other things needed to swap my winter and summer wheels. It's a bit more involved than traditional 5-lug wheels, but it's not a big deal once you have the tools and you understand how they work.
I think you should stick with centerlocks.

ONLY way to get a GTS. Have had for 19 months w/o a single glitch. Have had a puncture, local wheel place removed/patched no problem.
They are so very cool. Nice job getting them. I think *every* high end Porsche has. No sweat, they've worked out any kinks.
Would really regret not having. Would never buy a Porsche w/o.
