It's more about the quality porsche puts in their headers vs what ford does OEM. Porsche literally makes some of the best headers in the business quality wise and they are really built to last. I'm not saying you can't get another MAYBE 4 hp out by doing them but thats a lot of expense for not too much return. The sound does change a LITTLE but really that stuff comes from less restrictive cats (or none) and changing the muffler or a combo of the two. You also mentioned a tune...which for a ford V8 really is where most of the real HP is picked up and often simpler than doing the same to a flat 6 Porsche motor. Id wager even with a tune and headers back, you're talking MAYBE 20-27 hp on a NA Porsche when all is said and done. And that's about 10k worth of work and junk to get there and your warranty pretty much out the door should something happen due to the tune (granted it does matter what dealer you have but if something bad happens, it's not terribly hard for Porsche to find out something has been changed).
We've talked to several customers who are always doubtful of manufacturers results - and we understand. It's my objective at Soul to work to generate third part dyno results for our components to get honest and diversified information about how our products perform - the more the better.
At the end of the day, money spent that makes a different is money well spent. When our customers leave here smiling from ear to ear over the improved sound, power, and character of their cars it makes it all worth it for both of us.

I got many complements on the new exhaust sound at the autocross this weekend. And as i anticipated, no one is saying my car is quiet now!
Although the in-cockpit mikes I had during the runs weren't all that good, you can still hear the new soulful wail of the exhaust on the videos I posted on a thread at the link below. That thread is more about the instrumentation/video devices I was using than the exhaust, so if you just want to see the video/audio you can skip all of the reading!

This looks like a great product for those of us with a .1S without PSE. The craftsmanship looks great too. I'd be all over it were it not for the price, but beggars can't be choosers I guess!
Edit: This prompted another question. How hard is it to install the remote switching, and is it possible to integrate that remote switching into something more stock-looking inside the cabin?

The installation of the remote switching is straight forward and also leaves room for the customer to tailor it to their specific style. You can link the valve controller to your homelink buttons for a free and easy way to incorporate the valves while keeping the OEM look. You can also wire in a factory PSE switch if desired, though that does require several additional parts and steps to complete.

Wow StormRune, that is quite the set up you have there! You're making me think of getting another sportscar again!
Thanks for the kind words Bents! We work diligently to provide a great product at a great price but we understand it isn't always possible to meet every individuals unique circumstances. We will always do everything possible to accommodate the specific needs of the client in order to meet and exceed expectations.

When I said we work diligently to provide the best experience, I wasn't being facetious. We understand that there are not thousands of these systems out there (yet) for potential buyers to listen to before purchasing. To confront this issue head on are offering a 15 day 100% money back guarantee (from the time it gets to your door step) if you are not completely satisfied with the sound and performance of the product!

Are the straight cut tips available without your logo? Reminds me too much of a car built for animated hamsters...
Setup sounds/looks incredible.

Please forward the aforementioned animated hamsters please, I would love to get them an exhaust!
We can produce them without the logo if a specific request is made. Additionally, for $40 we will put a custom logo on the tips to suite the customers specific tastes!

I had a very good PM'ed question about the sound of the 991.1 valved exhaust in quiet mode and thought I'd post my opinion publicly here in case others were interested. I'd also be interested to see what other users of this system think.
I am pretty conservative when I'm around the neighborhood and in situations where the general public is nearby. So I'm really quite pleased with the exhaust in quiet mode, It is somewhere between stock PSE quiet and loud, but with the loud pops from the stock PSE transformed into a nice burble. Overall it is a bit closer to PSE quiet than it is loud but with a noticeably richer tone and more burbles.
In quiet the deceleration pops are reasonably subdued and become more like a nice burble than a pop. Interestingly, I never before realized that even Normal mode produces a reasonable amount of off-throttle burble, but it is certainly there now that the sound is less suppressed with the stock center can removed. Sport mode's increased off-throttle popping is also transformed to a more acceptable burble in quiet mode, it is just more of it.
All of this stays true as long you don't exceed the RPMs where the valves automatically open themselves regardless of mode. Of course, this only happens if you are using the OEM vacuum feed for the exhaust. If you get Soul's optional key-fob/Homelink switch you can keep it in quiet at any RPM. I don't see the need for this myself as along as you already have a PSE switch in place. For those without an OEM switch and not installing one it would be a must-have.
On my car the valves appear to open at 3300 RPM regardless of mode, a bit lower than I thought I've seen others posting for that. Possibly this is what it is in general and others just haven't isolated the specific RPM? With the additional loudness of this exhaust with the valves open it becomes pretty obvious when the switch occurs. I played with it a while to find where the edge was. At least on my car it is at or just above 3300. So in the neighborhood I either keep the car in Normal mode so it just naturally keeps RPMs down, or I use Sport mode with manual shift so as not to pop above 3300 too often but still get a little more life in the engine. It's not really a big deal but something to be aware of. As long as you aren't using a lot of throttle it isn't all that bad if they do open, but you will notice when the transition occurs.
At highway speeds in quiet mode the car is pretty much as quiet and drone-free as it was before, as quiet as a 911 can be anyway.

Quick update on the programming of the valve controller to the HomeLink in your cars. It is actually the same process as pairing your garage door opener but instead of holding the garage door remote in front of the sensor, you hold the key fob remote of your valve controller to the sensor.
Prior to programming the HomeLink for the first time. The following process deletes the standard codes set at the factory. Do not repeat the process if you program further buttons:
1. Keep the two outer buttons 1 and 3 depressed for approx. 20 seconds until light-emitting diode A begins to flash quickly. All programmed signals of buttons 1 to 3 are deleted.
Programming HomeLink with fixed code hand-held transmitters:
1a. Press and hold the desired button until the light-emitting diode begins to flash slowly. You then have approximately 5 minutes to perform steps 2 and 3.
2. Hold the original hand-held transmitter approx. 0 to 12 in. (0 to 30 cm) in front of the marked position (figure) on the vehicle.
3. Press the transmit button on the original handheld transmitter until the daytime driving lights flash three times (up to approx. 45 seconds).
4. Repeat steps 1 to 3 to allocate other buttons.
