991 4s Coupe vs Turbo
Requesting driving and handling impressions rennlisters here who have have gone from c4s coupe/gts 4 coupe to Turbo coupe or the other way from turbo coupe to c4s coupe
Are the only differences
1) body work
2) extra torque and power ?
My brief test drive of 2017 c4s cab and turbo coupes was the turbo coupe felt much lighter ( as I drove the 4scab ) and turbo coupe handling had more planted feel , better steering and more fun but it was not a long test drive

If you want stick, a C4S or GTS 4 offers stick while the Turbo does not. Unless you do some elective surgery similar to whats going on, in the GTx forum. https://rennlist.com/forums/991-gt3-...but-i-did.html
I have driven both the Turbo's power is bonkers. Its really more of a question of how quickly do you want to reach jail speeds? Handling wise turbo felt a bit heavier (coupe vs coupe). You really need to compare like body types to really make an accurate call. Handling on both cars were amazing, also make sure you compare like cars with 4 wheel steering etc. That can also make a difference.

Handling feels the same to me.
C4 power delivery is linear and somewhat NA like. Turbo has a traditional turbocharged feel. At 3.8 liters, the Turbo doesn't feel laggy, but when it hits boost the rush of power is absolutely explosive. It feels nothing like the C4 in that respect.
I had a C4 on order and changed it to a Turbo. Zero regrets.

I've got it too. Have u done a back to back with and w/o RWS? I can't get anything definitive on the experience factor. There are plenty of article stating what it is and what it does.

I have a 991.1 C4S and can relate my experiences on the track.
Turbo is flat out faster, especially on long straights. However, the corners boil down to driver ability, I tend to catch Turbos in the corners -
then lose them very quickly on the straights. I must admit that when I see a Turbo come up behind me on a straight, I know what is coming next. However if I can stay with the Turbo as they pass, I can keep up in the curves. It's an interesting dichotomy, but as I have been taught, curves set you up to win with straight line speed.
You want super FAST? Turbo is the way to go.
For my uses the 4S works fine, DD with occasional track time - until I get a GT3...

I've driven both and if price is not a factor, the Turbo will likely feel a bit more special to you.
You mention it feels lighter, I expect this is due to the added power.
Handling is also likely impacted by the rear wheel steering (std on the Turbo). Suspension may be different as well, but I don't know the specs so you'd have to compare.
I, personally, love the Turbo's side air intakes and the rear wing. Every time you look in the side mirrors you'll see the gorgeous hips/intakes on the Turbo. And no need partake in the debate over whether it is cool or not to have the rear wing deployed on a 4S, as the Turbo has a killer wing always present.
Both sweet cars, you really can't make a bad choice!

The 991.2 C4S drives more like a NA car than does the 991.2 TTS.
Obviously the latter has more power and torque, but in terms of driving feel (esp. in daily stop-and-go traffic) that's what sets them apart.

I have always been a fan (and owner x 2) of C4S
Why - perfectly balanced handling; I like the clean lines (I am not a fan of the extra's on the turbo); the slightly wider rear makes the design more "gracious" than the standard Carrera.
If you want straight line speed - go turbo; if you want the balance of handling, speed, and design - go C4S
PS - I have had both Cab and Coupe - I would always go with the coupe

Turbo coupe rode better and was a little more quiet than the C4S coupe on the roads I test drove on. Turbo felt slightly more planted probably because it is heavier and not quite as toss-able. At 7000 feet the Turbo's extra power was not as over the top as you might think accelerating effortlessly up HWY 24 toward the entrance to Pikes Peak outside of Colorado Springs.

OP, did either one or both that you test drove have PDCC? PDCC will reduce body roll which could give the impression of being lighter due to less lean. My driving impression of the 991.1 TTS is that it drives much lighter than it is. I think the combination of PDCC and RWS perhaps helps with this perception.

The turbo also has a lot of equipment standard. I went with a basic turbo, equipped it well, and am very happy.
To me the C4S makes a lot of sense if you want a four season stick shift, C4S/GTS if you want a targa, or C4/4S if you want a less expensive fun runabout for a few years. Outside of those cases I find the turbo (non-S at least) to be a hugely compelling alternative. That's just me though.
