I recently found out about Soul Performance Products in a Facebook group and decided to head over and find out more about them. Great guys, great product, and the price was so good that on the spot I had them put their valved exhaust on my 991. Right off the bat I must say - I couldn’t believe the attention to detail and finish of the exhaust system.
The satin blasted finish on the stainless steel is such a unique and incredible look. The carbon fiber tips look so clean next to the satin finish. The soul logo on the exhaust looks great too. The fit is probably better than stock as it weighs less and overall is a well thought out design.
My largest concerns prior to the install were keeping or improving the Porsche sound without having check engine lights or losing my PSE valve functionality. This exhaust met my expectations and then some. The Soul Performance exhaust perfectly maintains the OEM PSE functionality. With the valves close the OEM side mufflers are used and the stock sound remains similar, slightly deeper growl at higher RPMs but overall remains similar to stock. You can quietly leave the neighborhood without disturbing the neighbors or the wife (thankfully my wife likes it).
With the PSE valves opened, the sound is incredible. No RPM drone and it makes the 991 sound alive at any speed. Open the RPMs above 4k and that is the best sound of all. I could not believe this amazing sound was coming from my car! It has a deep rumble at idle and when on the throttle it’s just incredible. I feel like I burn more fuel because I want to keep the RPMs pushing this car now. I have not dyno’d the car yet, but you can notice an increase in torque and horsepower in that midrange, which is where the 991 needed it the most.
