Default Front grill for 991.2

I am considering getting the mesh grill cover for the exposed radiators on the front end of my 2017 4S. Can anyone tell me who makes these if avail? Looks like Zunsport does not make them yet. For those who've installed them, how easy are they to install , are they good quality/reliability, and how much$? I'd like to do it myself. Thanks!

You referring to the Rennline grills?

Yup, or something similar. But it looks like Rennline is not offering them for 2017's yet. Anyone know if the 2016 grills can be used/modified for the 991.2's?

I was referring to the Zunsport. If the product for your car not in the website ask them. They will try to get a customer who has that car to come in so they can make a prototype.

For those that have installed the grills (regardless of brand), how do you clean out any small debris that passes through? Is this is problem or are the grills fine enough to prevent this?

I think the usual grills don't work on the 991.2 because the vanes in front of the radiators move. They operate like shutters to regulate the cooling airflow to the radiators and reduce aerodynamic drag.

The grills wil catch small debris after time, such as crushed bugs and dried leaf fragments. There are two solutions: 1.) hose out the area and use compressed air. 2.)or partially remove the bumper cover and clean out.

As correctly Posted the louvers on the 991.2 move and preclude a simple mesh type cover.
But from an Engineering standpoint, the installation of mesh covers can hinder the heat transfer that the system was designed to provide even if the mesh is not compromised with debris.
You have to give the Porsche Engineers credit for designing a system that works.
Why would you without any Porsche Design information want to put a mesh in front of the radiators?
I have driven my 991.2 C4S for over a year now and 11k miles on road and track with no damage to the radiators.-Richard

Screens primarily protect the radiator grills from large object high speed impact while on race tracks, such as rocks and tire marbles.

Bugs, leaves and road debris still get through and become a royal PITA to try and remove their inevitable build-up over time.

If I'm not mistaken, the GT3, GT3RS, and the 911R all come fitted with screens from Porsche. Heat transfer is severely "hampered" by a holed radiator. For cars that see the debris thrown up on tracks, screens are a must.

I have some good news, we have finished developing screens for the 991.2 and we are only waiting on the GTS! It took a fair amount of R&D to get these to work in conjunction with the factory Aero but I can confirm that they work with it and will not inhibit cooling in anyway. We should be ready to manufacture in a few weeks and I will make sure to update you here.

Would the mesh grill now be available for the 2017 991.2 GTS's? I recently took delivery of my GTS Coupe during mid May and arrived at the same conclusion that the front air vents are too exposed and aggressively accumulate debri. I've already noticed slight dings to the radiator vents and it's been barely over a month. Please let me know if these are available and I'm happy to test fit as well, if you are still at this stage. My vehicle was the first allocation to arrive at my dealer and limited part//info exists at this time.

Thank you!
