I'm under the impression that to make them fit, material would have to be removed from the wheel hub as they would stick out too far on the 991.2 widebody compared to stock offsets. Adding spacers would just make them stick out even more...

i do not know the offsets for 4S vehicles.. but i don't believe it's much of a difference, maybe 10-15mm...
many people have put narrowbody wheels on a AWD widebody chassis... spacer size varies for the wheel used.
shaving the hub would be if you put widebody wheels on a narrow body car (the fenders are smaller, meaning wheel goes out more compared to fender)

What matters is the factory wheel offset and the new wheel offset.

The wheel widths are the same with as my stock Turbo wheels. The problem is your front has 40 offset when I need a wheel with 49. That does not require a spacer as you suggest and I'm not interested in machining down a wheel hub, nor do I want the front tire sticking out from the fender as I already have enough rocks hitting my doors and the wide body fenders. Make sense?
