DIY Oil light reset tool - does anyone use a Foxwell device - Need help pls
Hey guys.
I know a lot of you do your own oil changes. I just finished my first one and was pleasantly surprised that my Foxwell diag scanner is supposed to be able to perform an oil light reset. I have the AutoMaster Pro NT414
Basically I can scan the Porsche and get a lot of info even get through most of the oil light reset process but at the final step the tool says "No communicating" ECS sells something similar under the name Schwaben but the menus look different.
BTW I have updated the software and diags to the latest rev.
I have tried the Auto reset by both system and vehicle, the manual option just give a step by step of a manual process that is not correct. Holding the trip reset, turn car on, press again etc. I feel like if there was truly a manual option then these forums would be filled with info on that.
Anyway Foxwell is based in China and not easily reached for support so I was hoping one of you were familiar with the device.
See below for step by step.

Just an update: I have contacted support but their reply was to update to the latest software which I explained in the ticket that I already had. I replied that I had, again, but I am not too optimistic..

;-) Thanks.
I ended up going to Musante Motorsports which is very close to me and those guys are super cool. Lots of great cars there. Chris the owner gave me a tour and reset the light for free while I work out getting my issues resolved with my scanner. I saw a couple of rennlisters cars there too I recognized from other threads.

I just reset the oil change interval after a service on my ‘17 C2 yesterday. I used my Autel unit (MD802, DIY version) to reset the oil service. The screens look identical to your unit.
Reference ‘not communicating’, is the ignition on? I get this if I forget to turn the key after attaching the dongle to the OBD port.
Did you change the date in the third picture to ‘today’? You have to use the ‘KEYBOARD’ function, erase the current date (backspace), then enter today’s date one digit at a time using the selector and ‘enter’ for each number. Mine won’t reset the oil service interval unless I edit the ‘date’ shown and THEN select ‘oil service’ (third option) and THEN hit reset.

Foxwell NT520 oil reset
I get to the screen that says input the today's date and I tried 20210607 and 20210706 and both times I get "illegal input" when I click finish

Exact same thing happened to me this weekend using a Foxwell NT530. I need to check the date that the car thinks it is and make sure the date entered in through the Foxwell matched the car's date.

I just returned the Foxwell 510Elite as I couldnt do half of what they claim it does. Remarkable piece of Chinese crap with absolutely no support.
Hunting down a better unit now.

I have the CR Pro since I wanted do service resets on other cars in the household. There's another model that you can choose like 5 makes, but the feedback I got for that wasn't too good. Recommendation was to get the Por II or the CR Pro.

Having said that, if I had to purchase one again, I'd get the iCarsoft v2.0, it does oil reset and the battery management system as well, $140:

I bought this unit in 2020, it does oil reset. $96 on Amazon. I've used it successfully on my '17 C2 for my last two OCI.
