991.1 GTS lease end vs 991.2 C2
Asking you guys because I can't think for myself...
I have a 2016 Carrera GTS. It's leased and with porsche lease pull-ahead, if I were to exercise that option, I should start thinking about ordering another car about now. I lease because it's favorable to me for tax reasons.
Some thoughts - I stretched budget-wise on the GTS because it was the last of the NA engines and I thought it was truly a special car (interior, centerlocks, GTS interior etc..) It was my first 911 and I went big.
Getting a C2 would be back to earth budget-wise for me, so that's appealing. Also, getting a manual transmission and a different color has appeal as well.
The GTS has had an accident. So even if I bought out the lease to try to take advantage of the GTS bubble that seems to exist right now (might not last as leases start expiring...) it would wash out quickly due to that blemish. But l love the car for the exact reasons I extended my budget.
So the imprudent option - finance the GTS and justify it because it's my first 911,it's the last of the NAs, it's got Alcantara interior, centerlocks and the wide body.
Or the prudent-but-still-imprudent-option-becuase-its-a 911; Get a 991.2, get a different trans and color and save some personal capital .
My mind says get the 991.2. My heart is torn. What would you do?

Love the .1 GTS but I'd be tempted to go .2 given the accident history on your GTS and your desire for a change. I'm sure it's a better car in nearly all ways and you will appreciate that. (Coming from a .1 owner). Make sure you drive the .2 before you make a decision though.

GTS are good but not collector good. Porsche sticks the GTS badge on everything, even the Macan. The previous accident is a good reason to return at end of lease, as that will really hurt resale, let it be Porsche's problem. I have a MT 991.2 and it is a fun car to drive, but do get sports chrono.

You have a good champagne problem on your hands. i got a GTS after testing a 991.2. It's a truly great car but doesn't have the raw emotion and sound of the GTS. As Mr. JWW would put it, the GTS has a sense of occasion. Good luck with your decision.
