What makes this a $150k car? It reads as 150k on the Porsche VIN decoder too: https://admin.porschedealer.com/repo...AB2A91HS124589
Canadian dollars.

As a '16 GTS owner, I love my car, but I think your choice is more difficult ie a 2 yr old car w 22K km vs brand spanking new with the full warranty. This is a tougher decision.

The last thing I wanted was to start a .1 vs. .2 debate. But naturally is shaping into one.

The other aspect of this situation is that I'm potentially making an out of province purchase without seeing the car, which is risky. The Vancouver Porsche Centre is a 5 minute drive from my house and it would be so much easier to drive down and grab a brand new .2.

I'm going to get the MSRP of the GTS and let you guys know what it was. I think it's very over priced. If I were to make an offer on it I would probably offer 138k. When I spoke to the salesman he said he could potentially knock 2k off...At this point I'm thinking I better be crazy in love with "throttle response" or "NA noise" to make this decision and go for the GTS with 22,000 kms.

The sensible part of me tells me to go for a .2.

Please keep me informed with your ideas and thoughts on this post. Would love to hear more.

yes I too am a 991.1 owner but from all I've heard about the new 991.2 and one test drive although I don't have a GTS I'd likely lean for that one. Just too much more special about the car I felt than a 991.2 S which yes has the turbo engine and more/updated tech but didn't have the feeling that the GTS had. Basically from most owners I talked to...like Charlton Heston said..you'd have to pry their cars [991.1 GTSs] from their cold dead hands! LOL

If you're only saving ten percent on a used car I would much rather get a new 991.2. Better PCM, more low end grunt, very cool turbo whistle and a better steering wheel. Oh.... rear wheel steering is a godsend.

Preowned GTS prices, at least in the US, don't make much sense at this particular moment in time.

Having said so, you would have a more "interesting" car if you opted for the GTS...

If you could maybe do a new, light optioned GTS coupe...that would be the ultimate solution here...otherwise, if the new 991.2 s you're looking at has RWS and sport package, as a 991.1 gts owner I'd still say go for that, but if its a more "regular" 991.2 C2S go with a 991.1 gts, as it's still pretty special and the sounds are pretty amazing.

GTS pricing in Canada doesn't make sense either...If you can even find any.

Indeed. I check Auto Trader every so often and at most there are 10 991.1 GTS listings in all of Canada, the lowest price I've ever seen was around $135k... most are $150-160k which in most cases is less than 10% off MSRP. Crazy.

Barely slept thinking about this situation! Been waiting 4 years to get my 991. I mean, you'd have to be crazy to pass up on a brand new .2 4S to get a 15' GTS, 22,000km used car shipped from across the country without seeing it, right?

As others have mentioned my consideration would likely focus on a new car vs 2 year old... the extended warranty does however close most of that gap. Tough call but if I was in your position I'd likely go new as well, you don't know what you're missing with the 991.1 GTS and the 991.2 is a brilliant car period. If I was a nicer man (with more time) I'd offer to go check out that GTS for you in person but Pfaff is rather far for me given traffic etc.

Does the 991.2 have every option (including colour) you want? If I was in your position I would pick option #3 and factory order a new 991.2 GTS... personally not a fan of accepting what a sales guy has spec'd but that is just me. Might take a couple months but at least you'll get the best of both worlds.

Not helpful I know but just sharing my 2 cents...

So here's the deal from this GTS owner's POV: you need to drive both--gotta be a GTS in the Vancouver area--It's the only way for you to make up your mind.
New is new and yes there may be a slight nod to new warranty vs CPO warranty but keep this in mind: if you were to choose a .2 it becomes used as soon as you pull out of the dealer's lot and no matter which car you choose every new model from now will be an "improvement" over the GTS or the .2--

Test drive both.

CAD makes the price stupid high.

Also makes a ton of cars get shipped down south. The inventory of used 991s is stupid low in Canada.
