Porsche vs. Cooler

Don't know your exact location, but I see you have a Colorado plate. I recently had to have the rear bumper cover repainted on my 991.2 after I was mildly rear-ended. My car is agate grey and only six months old, so there was probably not much paint fade, but the body shop at Prestige Porsche in Denver did a very nice job on the car.

I did consider that, for about 10 seconds. I deliberately avoided the stock plate holder to preserve both the exposed shape of the bumper curve and the integrity of the bumper cover--no holes! (until now)

This brought back memories of hitting a couch on the interstate in my 944 NA, the front spoiler was torn up, which other than my nerves, was the only real damage. As this was a track car I just found a cheap used spoiler and carried on.
I did back into my son's jeep a couple of weeks after I bought the 991 and did a similar amount of damage, I wasn't happy until it was replaced. I still hate jeeps but that is another story.

Thanks to all for input. I also talked with my insurance agent, who is also a friend and very dedicated Porsche guy. He is happy to approved any work I want done, but suggests leaving it for now.
I have to think some more, but now leaning towards just driving as is.

Not too bad for being bombarded by careless pickup drivers.
I would get a new bumper cover. Best way to be happy. You have to take it off anyway to take photos of the impact bar behind it (otherwise you'll never hear the end of the whining from future buyers).
When you talk to a shop to paint it you can be very clear about how accurate it has to be. For example, tell them you will also look at the color match in black light. If that doesn't scare them they probably know what they are doing or else they can't complain when you reject.
