991.2 C2 Water Pump went out at 4500 miles.
Hi,
This is my first post here. I wanted to share some info. A couple days ago I brought my 991.2 C2 in for a fastener recall and tech update. While the mechanic had everything apart he also noticed a bit of wetness by the water pump but didn't think much of it at first because he had taken off the intercoolers and plumbing and figured it just dripped a bit. After wiping it off he soon left for the day. Next morning it was wet again. After further inspection, he found the leak at the water pump. What I am not certain of yet is whether it is the pump or the seal but they ordered both and it should be fixed on Monday. Also having a Fabspeed exhaust put on but that's a different story (experience with Fabspeed so far).
Reason for this post really is because while my coolant was low, right at bottom of "ok", he showed me that other than by being up on a lift I would have probably never known as it drips into a recess not onto the floor. Please consider this a public service announcement to check your .2 when you have a chance.
