Anyone get the Pilot 4S yet
I am due to get mine delivered and I have seen some really good reviews on youtube. Anyone here have experience with them yet? Should I absolutely get an alignment?

I know someone who got to go to the launch event for the tires. He said they are definitely a step above the MPSS and walked away super impressed with the tires. He said in terms of "feel" they don't seem much difference, but Michelin laid out the data on their runs with the various tires for them, and they were clearly the best.
As for the alignment, I do one any time I swap tires.

It's certainly worth doing wheel alignments periodically, though it your car is tracking true and not pulling in any direction, then the alignment is probably fine.
And there is nothing in the process of changing tires that affects the wheel alignment.

Put them on my 20" wheels with an alignment. Ride quality and reduced tire noise is a wonderful improvement. Excellent tire and upgrade.

Ok. Thanks for the advice. My car seems to track straight now. I guess I can have the tires changed and test drive the car to see how it tracks. I am not sure I would be able to tell. Would an alignment issue be discernible?

Incorrect toe-in is probably the easiest flaw to notice. If your steering wheel is not perfectly straight when your car is running straight on a flat road, then your toe has taken a hit somewhere. Also, if your car is a bit too willing to change directions, then you probably have insufficient toe-in.
Out-of-spec camber is probably most easily determined by examining the old tires you are removing. At each end of the car, if the tire on one side has worn differently across the width of the tread than the tire on the other side, then you probably have a camber problem.
Pulling to one side, when you're on straight flat road also indicates a problem that could be either toe or camber.

Just an FYI for people interested in these tires, the rear tires (305/30-20) dropped in price to under the $410 limit for Tire Rack's road hazard warranty. The $70 Michelin rebate is good through the weekend...so if you're ordering a set from Tire Rack this weekend is a good time. I spoke to Tyler and he confirmed that the tires would be covered under Tire Rack's road hazard warranty.
