good article.
May be in the minority here, but with the .2 GTS you get 95% of the power of the first generation 997 turbo, but with a lot less lag.
Other than for prestige, or if you truly plan to track it monthly, I don't see the reason to buy a Turbo/Turbo S over a 991.2 GTS. The GTS has more power that you can legally use on 99% of the roads in america, and torque to spare.

Will be interesting to see how 911.2 gts sales are affected by the new gt3. A well optioned first generation turbo is only $10 grand less than the NA gt3. Anyone who can afford to spend $150 grand for a turbo 3.0 can certainly afford to spend $160 grand for the 4.0. Perhaps this will force Porsche to build a gt3 touring model, a 911R for the rest of us.

Issue for getting a .2 GT3 now will not be price but getting an allocation. Anyone can get a GTS allocation, but if you want a .2 GT3 in the next 18 months you need to have put down your deposit 1-2 years ago, with a dealer that already knows you well.
So if you didn't do that deposit 1-2 years ago with the right dealer you're not getting a .2 GT3 until spring of 2019. If you want a .2 GT3 now, you'll have to pay a "market adjustment" of $40,000 over MSRP.

Yes. You notice my post stated you'd have to wait until spring/summer 2019 to get a .2 GT3 at MSRP, not the end of time. So yes you can get one at the end of the production run, but still with a little work on your part to get on a list now.

Any advice for ordering a 991.2 GTS below MSRP? Anything more than calling around local dealers and finding the best deal? I've had 3 911s (currently a 997 GTS), but never built to my spec. Thoughts appreciated.
