Can't Stand Rattles - Avoid the 991?
Rattles in cars, esp ones in this price range, annoy me pretty bad. Maybe blame my dad who would try to track them down when I rode around with him as a kid.
I did a bit of back reading of the rattle threads in the 991 forum. Will I be ok? Thanks a million.

if the OP's priority is quiet and no rattles, I suggest he buy a lexus or Mercedes E class.
If he wants a sports car with a decent amount of luxury, then he could consider himself ready to look at a 911.
A 911 is louder than a luxury sedan. Very rarely do the cars have rattles but it does happen on a few of them.

YMMV but in my experience Porsche fit/finish is as good as any. Take a lengthy test drive and see what you think.

All 911,s make noise ,,,,,every one I have had over the years has had some minor squeak or little rattle like Dewinator said part of owning a sports car ,,,,but I can understand your frustration if a noise is excessively loud ....

I spend months identifying and sorting through rattles - the 991 and .2 are as perfect and tight as you're going to find in any sports car. They keep getting better and better...

Even my 1999 996 Cab has hardly any rattles.
Rattles drive me nuts too, but some noises are better than others.
Definately take the advice to go and have a test drive. These Porsche's are pretty solid. Maybe avoid cabriolets.

No rattles in my 991.2 after almost a year. Only surprise was how noisy gravel is hitting the wheel wells since there must not be any sound deadening for that. I can live with that

My 2013 has notable rattles that like to come and go as the weather heats/cools. Dealer is usually willing to take a look at them, and can fix them half the time (A Pillar and Sunroof are common rattles and easier to fix).
