What else did you drive before Deciding on 991

I knew I was getting a 911 at some point. A Porsche 911 is not just a car to me and I'm sure most here feel the same. I was leaving a Boss 302 and I considered a new Shelby gt350 or an M4 but I knew I wouldn't be happy. I brought mine home on January 31st and I still open the garage door sometimes to just look at it and think WOW! Only a 911 can do that.

I test drove my own Boxster S (987) for too long--and wanted something newer and faster, sat in a new Cayman S, and then drove a 991.2 C2 (and ordered one). That makes 7 Porsches without a break, so I guess I drank the koolaid a long time ago.
As others have said, I never really considered anything else.

i didn't really drive anything else. I configured a few AMG GTs, but really wanted open top and the roadster version of that isn't out yet (ended up ordering a Targa which is perfect for me as I already have a S2000 for that true open top feel). The AMG GT is the only car that comes close to the 911 in terms of aesthetics/beauty but the interior is a bit weird. The 911 looks less chintzy and more pure.
The 5-series and A-series are different categories. Do you have room for both? I drive a '14 S6 now on lease, considering buying it out at the end since the residual is pretty low and it's been a great practical car to me. It is an incredible car for the money. Big, monster V8 power and sound, sedan with an amazing air suspension that transforms the car from cushy cruiser to corner carver at the touch of a button. Far superior responsiveness and road feel to any sedan BMW makes anymore (they have totally lost the plot in their rush to capture Lexus/MB buyers). Zero issues. My previous 550i was a lemon-law buy-back. Downside is as you say the interior is a bit naff now and it kinda looks like a giant Jetta.

Fart can F80 M3, a sad shadow of the former glory of the ///M division. Fake speaker sound permeates the air, while the turbos constantly remind that the NA magic is lost forever.
No sound, granted non-PSE, Base 991.2.
Did I tell you how I feel?
