I've noticed that my spoiler on my 991.2 goes up way more often than just above 75MPH. Only started when the weather finally got above 80 deg around here.
I've read that the spoiler on the 991.2 has a dual purpose of also feeding the turbos more air or cooling them off or something like that. On a reasonably warm day is it normal for the spoiler to be up most of the time? 30MPH even driving around town?
my only other experience was with a 981 Cayman S and it only ever deployed the spoiler above 75MPH.

perhaps you hit the spoiler button by accident, turbos are down low and off to the sides, turbos get air from the exhaust which is cooled by intercoolers, and turbo bearings have oil cooling?
My spoiler goes up and down way more than just above 75 too (it's easy to see in the rear view mirror). It happens on almost any drive that I take.
In the 997, the spoiler would deploy if the engine got too hot. In sport and sport plus modes, the engine runs cooler than in normal mode. I would think that the spoiler deploying is related to the engine temperature.
You can't see it in the rear view mirror?
I can easily see mine go up and down.
I don't have a CAB, not sure if you do or not. i can't see it extended at all in the rear view mirror unless my sunroof is open and it is extending extra far. its rare that happens though. Noticed it once on an onramp i think when i had the sunroof cracked a bit and i had the spoiler up on purpose. i'd never seen it in the mirror before, so i noticed it was up really high. when i closed the roof, it went back down to normal.
When it goes up to just horizontal, i never can see it out the mirror. I usually dont have it up on purpose, so that's why i thought this was so strange, i was probably only going 30 MPH or so. I thought perhaps it now behaves differently with the turbo engines.
I believe the spoiler goes up to increase flow to the intercoolers during high temperatures. When it rises, there's an air dam underneath spoiler which forces more air into the engine compartment and the intercoolers.

I played around with mine and I only see it in the mirror when it's extra extended. However, as mentioned previously, it extra extends all the time. I have a coupe/sunroof delete.
I believe it also goes up as needed to help cool down the engine/turbos
Also, I have the panoramic sunroof, and when open and above 75, the spoiler tilts forward at a much larger angle and is very visible in the rear view mirror
On that note I've noticed mine sometimes goes up 'higher' than other times. Mostly when really hauling ***. Is that an illusion or is it really reaching out and up further sometimes?
