It's been a great car.

All maintenance up to date.

Just had my 60K done a the dealer because of the PDCC service:
https://rennlist.com/forums/991/9715...60k-miles.html

But did all my services before that except my 10K (had some other issues to get resolved at 10K)

I probably wouldn't do it after the fact but they are available.

I like how the white dials look, but not a huge fan just because during the day, you have darker color letters over a lighter color surface, and the opposite at night, so on the changover (or if you live where it's rainy and gloomy a lot, all the time) you have a situation where both the dial surface and the numbers are similarly illuminated and can be very hard to read.

The MFD stays black, which to me looks out of place in combination, so I stayed with black for all of them.

I have yellow gauges and have never noticed the changeover. Either they are backlit or not. Dusk must happen quickly for me LOL - I have honestly never noticed it nor had a problem with it.

Probably my biggest regret, not getting white gauges. Didn't do it because I thought it would look goofy with the black MFD. Turned to full brightness, can only see them on the cloudiest days, barely. Impossible if the sun is out. No problem at night. I can read the black gauges in my Mini, Toyota, and Nisson just fine. Brighten the gauges and get rid of the PCM, and I would probably say my C4S is a perfect car.

Part of the problem may be that the instrument cluster is set back in the dash so that ambient light is shaded out, kind of looking in a tunnel.

I don't think your question about the ambient light setting was ever answered. All this affects is the nighttime ambient lights in the car's cabin, including the one that shines down from under the mirror onto the console. No effect on the instrument panel.
