The New GT3 -- I want

That new Chalk color is going to look incredible on a GT3.
Maybe the regular 911 will also get that color as well in 2018.

And the 997 GT3/RSs as well. There are a lot of 997 GT owners that plan to make the jump to the 4.0L 991.2 GT3 with a manual.
Also hopefully the resale values on the 991.1 RS will come down to MSRP as first 991.2 GT3s are delivered with basically the same engine this fall.
991.1 GT3 values will also start dropping now, but not as fast as people think because very few people will be able to actually take delivery of a 991.2 GT3 in the next 12-18 months, demand will be huge and so the only accessible GT car for that time will be a 991.1 GT3 if you want a GT car now.
18-24 months from now as early 991.1 GT3s start to go out of warranty, and supply catches up with demand for the 991.2 GT3, then we'll see a sharper drop in 991.1 GT3 prices.

I guess this answers the question regarding the GT4! This GT3 is a big leap above the Cayman now for sure! Whew! Was worried there for a while. I still like the looks of the R (no wing) and will someday have one, some how!

I know we all get a chubby for the GT3(rightfully so) but does anyone use them as their 'daily' or is it mostly just a $150K+ car that sits in the garage or at a track mostly. Just curious as I have never owned one.

However with the 991 GT3 generation, the cars became much more comfortable for the street and with PDK-S, fine to drive in traffic.
I daily my GT3 half the week, and use a regular car the other half. The GT3 days are special, as are my weekends with her.
I also track my GT3 every 6 weeks or so.
No offense, but in my mind, the 991 GT3 is what the the 911 used to be, a car equally suited for the track, back roads driving, taking a trip, or taking your lady on a date.
IMHO, the 991 Carreras are better at the last two, than the first two.

Holy M#%#%#%#%# - This is THE car that I have to get this year. This is the 911R for all of us and this one comes in Stick. OMG!!!
I assume 911R will become slightly cheaper from $500K
Yeah for Porsche - now I have to trade the markets aggressively (any prop traders in here)

Dammit Porsche, just when I was getting excited about my August delivery 911 GTS, you come out with the GT3 that makes me want to throws stones at the GTS. I absolutely love that front end and the rear diffusers not to mention the sound of a naturally aspirated engine at the 9000 rpm redline. The extra 50 HP don't hurt either. Dam you Porsche.

.2 GTS and GT3 are very different cars.

It all depends on how a Carrera is configured.
My 991 base has passive dampers which work great on the track, and are a bit harsh for everyday driving. The car is simple, feels light and raw. So for your usage classification, it most definitely works at least as good in the first two as in the last.
Sure, you are entitled to your GT3 snobbery, but 991 Carreras can be as true to fulfilling a 911 promise as any of the previous generation.

Historically, most people used a GT3 or RS just as a fun weekend car for the track, canyon runs, a night out, etc.
However with the 991 GT3 generation, the cars became much more comfortable for the street and with PDK-S, fine to drive in traffic.
