Default ARS Technica experiences fleet of DSC Sport cars on track

While many of us are waiting patiently for warmer weather and track openings, we thought we'd share this great article from ARS Technica about our media track test day held back in May '16! While many have already read about Randy Pobst's impressions of our GT4 from the same test day, ARS Technica writer, Jonathan Gitlin, who is no stranger to track cars and race cars (he does a great deal of automotive writing from behind the wheel and is an active participant in grassroots enthusiast racing) is fashionably late to the party with his own impressions of the DSC Sport GT4.

Enjoy!

The story on ARS mentioned that the GT4 also had TPCs toe links and therefore a TPC suspension alignment. That makes it very difficult to pick out the independent effects of the DSC controller. Note - this is not to question the value at all, but having heard about all the good things TPC does for handling would have liked to get a sense of how much of the performance improvement was due to each upgrade.

Well...TPC/DSC really are more or less one in the same, as DSC is owned by TPC. We recommend both the links and the DSC as a package, which is really what was on display with this GT4 that day; I think Jonathan (ARS writer) was just more moved by what he felt in the damping characteristics than anything, so he chose to write more about that.

They are very complimentary products that attack a lot of the same issues with the GT4 from different angles. However, the changes from DSC Sport most people will be able to feel at 25mph, whereas feeling the effects of the toe links really does require driving the car near its limit. I would recommend the following thread for getting a better understanding of what each product does:
