Default 991.2 owners and steering wheel controls with ignition off

Here is the scenario:

1) I have a 991.2 with a GT steering wheel with heat and multifunction buttons
2) when I turn my car off but remain seated inside, the stereo continues playing and all the buttons on the center console work
3) none of my steering wheel controls work

Anyone else have this problem? Is this a normal "Porsche" thing? I had countless bimmers, benzes and nissans and none of them ever had been wired this way.

Me too, on the last sentence.
I have the Multi Function non-GT steering wheel and it it does #2. I'll have to check to see if #3 exists, also. Open the door and everything goes off - I think. I'll check my manual - if I can figure out where to start looking.
So many buttons and so many choices. But, I like everything else.

Various things stay powered after you turn off the ignition and indeed until you lock the car.
That's why it's important to never leave the car unlocked for a long period of time.-Richard

I just upgraded my 997.2 to a 991.2 GT wheel and I am encountering the same behaviour. Is this really normal?

All VW, Audi and Porsche products that I have owned behave this way. Don't know why, but they shut the wheel down when the ignition is off.
