Depends the driving dynamic you like, but I had a 14 Turbo S, then a 16 Mercedes GTS now have a 991.2 gts on order as honestly its the best of all worlds.

The new system is undeniably better. No question.

TT/S vs Carrera is a very different decision. Lets pretend they are both the same price and/or you could write a check for either and set prestige aside... They are very different driving experiences. Perhaps less now with the 991.2 being so bloody fast and the introduction of low RPM torque... and boost.

There is no wrong answer and any year/model Porsche is going to give you a driving experience unlike any other car in any price range. Anything posted here will be nothing more than conjecture. Only taking each for a test drive will truly differentiate the right car for you in the way you quantify the ideal car.

I have a CPO 2015 TTS on the way, so theres my 2 cents. You can get a seriously good deal on one right now with lots of warranty left.

My biggest issue with the 991.1 (any trim, C, GTS, TT/TTS) vis-a-vis the 991.2 chassis is that the PDK gear lever shift pattern is backwards. The 991.2 fixed that. Thank god.
