Hi Everyone !

I used to read every single thread on this forum ...
And i already post one in order to know if a 991.2 will fill my expectation as a replacement to my macan (Daily driver).

Now ... i'm torn between 3 choices :
- BMW M3 Competition Package (Great Deal on it !)
- Porsche Carrera 4
- Porsche Carrera 4 GTS

... I nearly can't sleep cause i have to decide which one i'll pick this week !
Sometimes i think the 4 doors, 4 seaters M3 will be the best, but i'm afraid to lack the "special" feeling of a Porsche ans especially a 911 !
So the C4 will be the best, but i'm afraid to think everyday that i should have pick the C4GTS ... But the C4 GTS is a little over pricey in fact ... And why bother with a Porsche ? The M3 Will be great ! But ... I'm leaving in the country of Rain (Belgium) ... So the RWD M3 could be complicated with all that water ! So the C4 is the way to go ! But ... the 4 doors ... 4 seats ! And here we go again ... and again !

Please help a little young boy (30) that want to buy his first true sport car (The Macan Turbo is great but is not a sport car !)

Maybe 1 or 2 times a Month ...
And it's 99% of the time to be kind with people who want to enjoy the Porsche.

I know ... it's what my hearth tell me !!!
But my wallet tell me that it's just a huge amount per month for the car
(I work as a freelance and it's my professional car)

So ... i keep asking myself : does the C4GTS is really 250€ per month more enjoyable that the C4 ?!

I decided a C4 was more then enough power for me and fit my budget nicely. I think you have to drive both to decide for yourself. As to the BMW, this is a Porsche forum ,if I was going to recommend the M4, I'd probably be living on the BMW forums. We can't tell you how much money,to spend or how much power you need, but I'm excited about getting my first Porsche after having driven BMWs my whole life. Maybe get a C4 and drive it for a few years. If you decide you could have used more power, It's not going to be your last car, right?

the regret will cost you more when you go to trade the C4 in for the car you should have gotten initially and the one you REALLY wante.

the Macan is nice and there have been some videos showing not much slower than an M on a track.

I'll be visiting Belgium in April ... I can't imagine owning any of these cars in this speed camera kingdom! Forget about the 250eur price difference, how long can you do your job without your driver's license?

Just kidding, the C4 will be all you need, but personally I would opt for the C2 when choosing a 911, if you're after that special 911 feeling, I feel that 2wd is the way to go

I'm stating the obvious, but the M3 is just a tarted up 3-series; the traditional low end range of BMWs line. When you own an m3, it's impossible to shake that fact. I used to own one.

Hugely capable cars and just as fast, in practical/real world driving, as a Carrera. AWD>RWD in the rain, but I find that tires make a bigger difference than anything.

Not sure how you are cross-shopping these two - m3 comp package is literally half the price of a C4, never mind a C4GTS which is pushing 2.5x the cost?

If it's in your budget, I can't imagine you feeling the need to justify the Porsche.

In Fact I cross Shop the M3 and the Macan Turbo 2 years ago

And now ... I have some regrets, since SUV is really not my type in the end ...

So the M3 Came back in my mind
I ended at my dealership for the first maintenance on my Macan ... And talk a little bit about it to my salesman ...
Since i don't pay cash for the car and take a renting on it ... The price/month is the main point for me.
And The C4 i have configured is just 5% more per month than the M3 ...
Then ... while i was thinking about it, the new GTS came out ... and ... I started to dream a little bit
Here is how i ended cross shopping the 2 ... 3 cars

I wanted a c4 but couldn't get an allocation. Was forced in to a c4S. Get a c4 if you can.
