Ventilated Seats and Perforations
#18
I have never had any cleaning or care issue with my vented seats. I find them outstanding for comfort with leather seats- totally staying dry and cool on long trips here in the mid-Atlantic area, but that may be moot in your area. They are not a "must have" option IMHO, except for me.

Add another check to pro ventilated seats column.
No, they are not necessary.
Yes, the perforated leather requires a little more extra care compared to the non-perforated.
Yes, you can feel a difference, less so if you're wearing heavy denim.
They are set up to wick air off your back and bottom when turned on. It's nice not having your nips freezing and back sweating in the summer.

I like my ventilated seats with full leather in my C2S. My sister dripped her chocolate ice cream cone onto my black perforated leather seats . . . cleaned up fine with a wet rag when discovered a day or so later after she left following her visit.
In the 100+ degree summer weather here south of Fresno, it feels like an ice cube running down your back within seconds of switching on the seat ventilation. It really keeps the back of your shirt from getting wrinkled in the summer.

Here in the South of the US with CAB's, I find the ventilated seats a must have option now. However, you did not indicate whether it was a coupe or cab. I would buy a coupe without them here and think I could cool off much quicker but haven't tried in the summer. My Panamera seems to be OK without using them in the warmest time of the summer but I just like cooling down faster so I have them on that car also.Since you are in BC I would think you could get by without them. You will not recoup the money upon resale unless someone specifically require them in your area.

I had them on my 997.2 cab, purchased off the dealer lot - silver/black 14-way seats. I lived in AZ with frequent visits to San Diego at that time, so it seemed a must have especially for a cab.
It was one of the reasons I sold the car ultimately - they would always appear grey rather than charcoal/black due to the perforations and they definitely would get clogged if say your wife sat on them in shorts with sunscreen on her legs
Overall I thought they performed OK, but were not a must have in drier climates anyway. They always looked dirty to me though.
