That is true. In that video, only look at the sound differences and the reduction of sound level when outside and the mic with is a few feet.

This thread is the first time I've heard of anyone passing sound at Laguna on a 90db day with PSE on any of the current model Porsches, 991/981/Spyder/Any GT car. That's my favorite track but I've avoided taking my car there due to the sound issue. May have to take my chances at a day there.

It's a lot more than Tehama. Pasadera, the area around LS golf ranch, the homes across 68. I passed on a house last year across 68 due to the proximity to the track and the noise. The opposition is not small and it's not simply a 'you moved in next to a race track' issue. Laguna is a holy place to me, but the sound studies done at construction were arguably flawed and the surrounding land owners were arguably damaged. What we have now is a reasonable compromise. And it will very possibly be a moot point and all come to an end when the lease runs out in about 10 years.

Make sure the valves are closed and pull the line running to the valve actuator. Presto, valves locked in closed position.

This would be horrible. Still bummed by losing RIR down here. To lose Laguna Seca would be tragic.

Thanks everyone - as always it sounds like it "depends", although it sounds promising that at least some of us have passed the test with PSE on full throttle! I reached out to the organizers and it looks like there are two dings before you are done (although you meant to make some kind of "change" to address the problem before you come back on the track). With all this in mind I intend to go fairly hard this weekend, at least until I get a ding. Will report back on how it goes

Y'all need to move to the South East. We like noise down here!

Maybe just a mandated Sunday lunch break for the church going types.

(And the 103 db limit at NCM)

That was propaganda started by the non denominationals to be able to get the good seats in the restaurants for brunch from the Baptists and Methodists(aka Christian day drinking, cause brunch without booze is just a sad late breakfast.)

But few tracks in the U.S. are situated in one of the most beautiful places on earth with some of the highest property values as well. Laguna is a complicated situation. The noise regs were/are a reasonable compromise to keep the track open.

Agree. Own a lot in Tehama, and the quietest vintage racer I have hits 108db, thus aware of the db issues. Situation isn't likely to improve.
Could be worse I guess. Lime Rock Park, CT. has "No racing on Sunday"...ever. Track was built with compromise to local church.

For future forum search reference- I had no trouble passing sound at Laguna Seca on the weekend. First few runs with Sport off then worked up to Sport Plus (all with PSE off) with no issues. I don't know if PSE on would have tipped me over however I did my final 2 laps with PSE on and didn't get meatballed.

For reference - the sound booth was working as several others did get cited, including a GT3.
