2 things:
1. Don't buy 2nd tier wheels for the track. Too risky. You don't want them cracking (or worse) at speed.
2. Go with 19s instead of 20s. Cheaper wheels and tires. RE-71s, MPSC2s, Nitto NT01s, etc. You want to go with 245-40-19 up front and 305-35-19 in rear. They'll be 1/2” shorter than the standard 20s, but they'll make the car sit a little lower. The only drawback is that your speedometer will be about 5% off. You'll think you're going 5% faster than you really are.
I found 19" Carrera classics from a 997S and they work great. Cheap and strong. Check out the Parts Marketplace here. There are lots of options. Even the good old Lobster forks would work well. Lightest 19" 997 wheel that Porsche offered...

id rather use 19” too but my GTS has rear steer and there is a bolt on the suspension that gets in the way of most all 19” wheels unless I go with a certain wheel from Forgeline or HRE at around $8k a set....uh no thanks lol

are you a Carrera or Carrera S? Do you have rear steering too?

Best track wheels are OEM Porsche that have been road rashed. You pay almost nothing for them - they are TUV Approved and won't break or be out of round.

PTV, PASM or ABS). Please confirm if these fitments are compatible with these systems - more specifically, are you driving at track events WITH PASM ON or DISABLED? If ON, have you ever experienced any PASM faults?
During my earlier 996/997 days several forum members reported a particularly scary brake failure mode (used to be called “ice mode” I think), which MAY have been related to the interaction of stability systems with non-standard tire sizes (hypothesis only, but not confirmed by any authoritative source, though)

So you can change from 27 inch diamter tires to 25.5 inch diamter tires as long as you change both the front and rear tires at the same time.
Car doesnt know the difference ( and only you speedometer is off).

on my GTS cab I’m running OZ superforgettas in 19” with 265/35 19 front and 315/35 19 rear pilot sport cup 2s. No issues and car feels great. Balanced etc. no errors with the electronics at all. I have not disabled the ‘nannys’ at any time so far. Hasn’t been an issue in sport +

I'm having trouble finding a good brand of 19" track wheels to use on my 13 991 c2s. The track tire options at 20" are virtually nil. I don't want to spend a fortune (i.e. bbs, hre, etc.) becuase these things are likely to get torn up on the track and other than track dutry they will sit in the garage. Any ideas that others have used successfully would be very helpful. Thanks in advance.

I have 991 track wheels / tires for sale..
Satin Black BBS CH-R with Michelin Pilot P4S for 991 Porsche.
Wheels are: 19x8.5 et 51 and 19x11 et 56
Tires are : 235/40/19 and 285/35/19.
The set was used for a few hundred street miles and (2) 20 minute track sessions. Tires have approx 9/32 tread remaining (90%)
No curb rash / never refinished.
TPMS is installed.
3250 picked up outside phila. Will ship as well.

Not sure why you'd say that. This is the exact 19" size Tire Rack recommends for winter tires. Would it be different for track use?
