Default 2017 vs 2018 Targa

Just about to put an order in for a 2017 Targa custom build but I guess the 2018 is just around the corner. Does anyone have information on when the 2018 will be available to order or more importantly any info on what will be different? Wouldn't want to put in an order and then miss a model year if its going to come in the next few weeks or so.

Cheers
Richard

Why would the 18's come so early?

You have several months to go. FYI it's February.

Normal switchover is July. Haven't heard of any changes.

Expect very little change, if any, between the two model years.

It's normal. 2017s were available to order in 2015 right?

From everything my dealer has told me, the 991.2 was an early introduction. Now that the Targa has changed over to the .2 version, can 't see why the 2018's would follow the original .2 introduction timeline.

Model year change over generally arrives end June or July. Dealers get their allocations a couple months in advance. You'd be smart to talk with your dealer some time in April to make sure you get an allocation for the '18 MY.

New wheel choices and perhaps various new layouts (color schemes) for the interior leather.

My March production Coupe arrives mid May. Are you suggesting the 2018s will be on the ground in July or production starts July with cars arriving 2 months later (September/October)

2018's are available to order now. Main difference is that First scheduled maintenance @ 10K miles or 1 year is "included" as Standard under the Engine section. I had spec'd both the 2017 & 2018 and compared all standard options. There was a slight increase in price of about a $1K for me. This is based on the Targa 4 GTS build, US.
