Help ---Gremlins invading my driving lights
Hello All-
I have owned this 2012.5 911S for about 1 1/2 years----In the past, when I parked my vehicle at night or approached my vehicle at night, by pressing the "unlock" button on the key fob, The exterior parking lights would turn on---My car has AUTO headlamps..
Also when I exited the vehicle at night the interior and exterior lights wold stay lit for an amount of time---like 30 seconds---
Well, I just noticed, the exterior parking lights will not stay on (at nightime in dark garage) when I exit the car or when I approach the car and unlock with key fob---
Help---I have tried the dash menus to set exterior lights as well.
It seeks like the sensor for auto lights has gone bad or I am not smart enough to figure it out---
Cheers

Are you using the same key?

lights
yes--using same key since I purchased---
it is the original battery so I am leaning towards failing battery----
I went for a 40 min drive last night and the Home Feature lights worked as before----i.e. the led driving and parking lights stayed on for 40 seconds when i exited the car----

I replaced the battery with Interstate AGM from Porsche for $202 and did the install myself----not a big job----but a big job from a changing the battery experience----
The battery is @ 1.5 inches longer but the Porsche battery tray is already set-up to accommodate this---actually, the tray has addtional "settings" to accommodate an even longer battery if desired. The battery is not light and the location (near base of wondshield) creates a long reach---most of the work stemmed from my anxiety of creating error messages by disconnecting the battery----all for nothing---I plugged in CTEK into lighter during battery swtich and the car retained all memory and settings and no error messages were triggered---
Thank you Rennlisters for suggesting low battery and for providing some very useful installation steps for battery install----saved me at least $300---RENNLIST membership VALIDATED!!!
Cheers
By the way---Supposedly one of the advantages of the AGM battery is "longer life" up tp twice as long---this does not seem to be the case here---The Optima in my Superduty F250 is 9 years old and still going strong----just my .02---probably just pissed off the "battery gods" and my Optima is on borrowed time now---

Did you make sure your headlight selector switch is on auto..... does your headlights still come on at night?

solved
Replacing the battery solved the issue----I guess the battery had unstable voltage and wasnt holding a charge so my car's system decided to turn off that feature and lights to save the battery----
Cheers---
