Check my Oct. 1 posting -- I replaced most of my interior fake chrome trim with red leather. For the door strips (the hardest part), the inside door needs to come off, then the strip can be popped out. Not for the faint of heart. Good luck -- it's worth it!

You want a carbon fiber look and you're going to have the aluminum trim removed and then refinished in carbon fiber?
For all the trouble this is going to take, carbon fiber, to me, just another muted color, doesn't seem like it's going to provide that much of an impact over the aluminum. What is the color of your interior?
In any case, kudos for trying something different and would love to see it when you're done. And learning about the work involved in doing it.

black interior with red gauges and red seatbelts. I want to get stealth red carbon fiber. I just don't like the plain aluminum-plasitcy look of the stock stuff. Still have to decide whether or not to do it, and if I do, gloss or matte cf.

I hear you.
I tried to get them to do a custom color trim at the factory and they agreed; but, the colors they offered were too limited. Company's that do "wraps" tell me they'll "wrap" trim. That opens up a whole world of design and color options. On that score, I'm looking for impact as well as color agreement. I'd consider this sort of idea on your interior trim :

What'd you do with the removed parts?

This has got to be my favorite 991 interior of all time. Black on Red. Simply stunning.

Can't go that big, but I did order the red leather center and dash kits yesterday! Should look good on my black interior with the already red gauges and seatbelts.

Sorry, maybe I did not explain clearly. There are no unused removed parts. I removed the fake chrome strips on the doors so that they could be covered in red leather. Then they are put back on the door (they pop right back in), then the door is put back together.

my dash kit may be available if I am also able to do my door strips. If I don't then I'm keeping them to return to stock and resell the leather ones whenever I get rid of the car.
