How long did rear tires last?

How long did rear tires last?
I'm a little shocked to have worn through my rear tires in only 6k miles with no track use. I was always able to get 10k out of the rears on my 997. The alignment doesn't look too out of which based on the wear except the passenger side is more worn than the drivers side.

That seems odd. Got just about 12.5k out of mine. That includes a lot of mountain road runs and lots of high-speed Autobahn runs/cruise north of 150 mph.

Huge variable in this is the tires themselves. OP: w/o posting what you are using it's very hard to comment.

Smoothness is the key, I got a low of around 12k miles once before, but since I changed driving technique focusing on smoother lines around corners I now get 20-25k miles before even with the wear bars, no track days for me.....

Depends on the alignment and how hard they are driven.
With non aggressive street use, long trips and properly aligned, I got 19 k miles on the P1s that came with the car and am about halfway through a set of MSSs with another 14 k miles. Back when I used to track cars I would get about 10k on rears.

Pressures probably matter too - If you like to run lower pressures for better grip and/or comfort, they will likely wear a little faster.

OP here, sorry i didn't mention it but they are the stock Pirelli's on a 2015 Carrera S. No track use, it's my pleasure car, so of course there some canyon roads I like to rip up but nothing crazy. I drive just like did in my 997 and I could get as much as 13k on those. I'm running the recommended pressures. What pressure should I run if I want more life?
When I replace these I'll get an alignment just to be safe.

Original Pirellis on 2012 991S: 14,500 miles on rear tires. Front tires only a little better. Changed them anyway along with rear ones. I considered that very good after 7,500 miles on three sets of GT2 tires. Both without any track driving. GT2 front tires lasted about 50% longer.

wearing tires out quickly is how I know I'm doin' it right.
But seriously, the conditions that dictate tire mileage are endless, as we all know. I was happy with 6k miles on my 996TT and NSX with a fair amount of track time. It'll be interesting to see what I get with the 991.2 with less frequent track time. Less = better.
