If your ML throws codes, then it could be that specific Costco may not maintain their pumps and tanks to code, or your car has other issues. I’ve owned several high end and generic vehicles that I’ve fed Costco fuel, and none of them ran like crap or threw a single code. I digress.

By the gas station inside the Hockenheimring. The story of that day at the gas station didn’t end well... blocked fuel intake valve, car flat-bedded to Porsche Mannheim, going back to Geneva on a combination of taxi and rental car, and 911 brought back to Porsche Geneva a week later to have the whole tank replaced.

Pit stop on way home during a nice 360 mile round trip to the coast today.

Oh, here we go! All gasoline come from the same refinery per region. The only difference is the additive. My old man owned a gas station: Mobil—>Arco—>No name brand. Guess where the gas came from? Same refinery and same vendor in all three situations.

Quality of gas really depends on each station. Moisture, dispenser filter, underground tank condition, etc. are what really matter much more than brand. If you want to talk “shi ty” gas, we do get shafted in CA due to the EPA and the nut jobs that run this golden state.

Absolutely crap pic but my car’s first taste of 100 octane. Need to hammer it today to see if I can notice any difference...likely I will imagine some difference.
