Garage Door hook up - (Sorry - I know I am dull)
I tried....
How does one set this up on a 911? I read the manual. I watched a youtube video. I just can't seem to connect my hand held clicker with the porsche button. All it does is open and close my gate whenever I try to sync them.
Please, I will allow as many deserved jokes at my expense, but FIRST, pay me up front with instructions how you did it?
Thanks in advance,
Stupid Bradley Scott

I'm sure you did, but did you do it with the controller button on the actual garage door unit?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FwsVMJUYThU

Just push and hold the button in the car until it blinks rapidly. don't let go. Than hold the garage door unit within a few inches of the porsche one while steadily holding in the button. Don't let go until the porsche stops blinking. Worked every time on 4 porsches.

Keep in mind that the car's transmitter is in the front of the vehicle, not the mirror. When you sync, you'll need to press the homelink button on the rearview until the rearview light starts quickly flashing, get out of the car and hold the button on the old opener near the front porsche emblem for a few seconds, and then get back into the car to see if the rearview light is now blinking slowly (means the transmitters have sync'd up).
One person can do the entire process by themselves. It's kind of a pain but shouldn't take more than a couple of minutes. Also I think the car does have to be running for the car transmitter to work or to synchronize it with another remote.

Don't need 2 people. Clear the codes by holding down the 1&3 button inside the car till the light starts blinking. go to front of car, hold the remote to the front of the car, hold the button down until the blinker lights blink 3 times. Don't worry if the door or gate goes up or down.
Also what Lex said is correct if the opener has a rolling code you will have to set it at the unit first.

I think if you keep trying you will eventually get it.
I synced mine to two different overhead door openers - one which did not use rolling codes and one which did. The first time I tried I could not get the turn signal to blink for the rolling code door (indicating the car had understood the code) so I tried the other and it blinked quickly. Since that one doesn't use rolling codes it immediately opened and closed that door.
I went back to the rolling code door and tried moving the transmitter around and finally (after maybe a minute of keeping the transmitter button pressed while moving the transmitter around a bit) the turn signal blinked indicating it had learned the transmitter. But then I still had to press the learn button on the door opener to have it learn the car's rolling code implementation. Once done it now works both doors fine.
